has anyone got any thoughts on the new advert for talk talk - their 'free' broadband offer? At present we use 18866 for the phone, and are with wanadoo (£17.99 per month) for our broadband. could we improve this?
    Thanks

you could have improved this by migrating your wanadoo connection a while ago, to zazizam's (https://www.zazizam.com) idential package at £11.99 including phone option.... which I believe you can still use 18866....... so yes you can improve it - I would highly recommend zazizam to anyone

the alternative with talktalk... i would leave it a few months tbh - see what all these new customers make of the service.... current TTBB users are saying that customer services is arwual, speeds are dira, and that P2P is heavily managed - if that is anything to go by - i wouldn't move to TT

just received a call from primus (cheapest CPS provider the now) with regards to their recent launch of broadband. Wasnt actually aware that this was available so shocked when i received the call to say the least!!!

Im currently on the Primus Saver opt 2 which gives me free evening and weekend calls(to local and nat numbers) and 2 p per min during the day. The broadband deal that i was quoted was for 1MB on this same call plan it was only £14.99 a month. I was told that this was uncapped unlike other providers. This was for a 12 month contract, if i was interested in taking it for 18 month it was £13.99 a month. To good to be true??? I like most others was waying up the CPW offer amung others but this deal sounded perfect..

I also asked the question regarding 2 MB and was quoted £16.99 for 12 month and for 18 month £15.99.

If there broadband packages are as good as their phone service i will be happily changing over from Wanawho???

Heres some bullet points taken over the call.

Both 1MB and 2MB High speed broadband.

    · FREE connection (worth £50)

    · FREE modem (worth £29.99)

    · FREE techincal support (0800 number)

    · Activation within 7 working days

    · Generous discounts when taking broadband with any Primus call plan.

    · Unlimited monthly usage.

Hope this is of help to you guys!!! any questions you can contact them on 0800 036 0094.

  • If you try and go for the TalkTalk deal, watch the following 'catch', as they tried to do this with me today. I am in an area where I am elligible for the 'free broadband' offer. But note that they will switch you to the Talk3 option in 3 weeks, and bill you from then on. HOWEVER, at the moment they have said they will not connect your broadband option until the end of June at the earliest.

So you will be paying for the full service for May & June, but won't actually have the broadband side. (And that's assuming they keep to their 'estimate of end of June' date (which they probably won't !)
  • I'm currently using BT Broadband Option 1 paying £17.99 a month. After reading through the forum I decided to have a look around at the competition. To cut a long story short I called BT for my MAC number so that I could move. I told them that I had seen the same deal that I was on elsewhere for £14.99 and asked them to match it. Unfortunately he said he couldn't but the guy on the phone immediately offered me a £2 discount per month which I immediately took. SO now my broadband is £15.99 not £17.99. He said that I should wait until the end of May before thinking of moving as this is when my exchange will be upgraded. Anyway I'll wait for a month or two before seeing if I should move on. Thought I would share this moneysaver as it is not clear to me how you would find this out from BT.

Check to make sure you have not signed up to a new 12 month contract.

you could have paid £13.99 for the same service, saving you £4 every month! £6 if you take a phone bundle as well!
  • Hi all,
I received this ad through the letter box from Bedigital.
24 Mb connection, unlimited usage, 3 months contract (3 months notice). £20 pm (with leaflet / £24 pm normally when ordered through the web site). Has anybody else seen this ?
I am studying the market and I am always keen to shop around but this is the best value for money I have seen around and wanted to know if anyone was already using this and if this was any good ?
    cheers

Sch4st4r, I was about to make a post about be. Their website is https://www.bethere.co.uk/

They seem to be a new company. According to asdlguide.org.uk there is a bit of mixed feedback so far (go to http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/ispinfo.asp?isp=beunlimited and click on user discussion at the top) but as Martin says this is the case with most ISPs.

It is worth noting they are a new company so this could be teething problems.

I wonder how long unlimited 24mbit broadband at £24/mnth will last? This could just be an introductory offer.

Finally I'd like to point out I'm a newbie so don't take any of my comment / opinion too seriously! :p
