Today is the first anniversary of my wife and I opening our FRISA at our local Lloyds at the rate of 6.5%. Little did we know what would happen in the next 12 months!

I await tomorrow morning to see if they have added any interest to our accounts, as we have previously been incorrectly advised that the FRISA matures today:confused:. Lets hope that my letters and visits to the branch have prevented this:rolleyes:

I was wondering if they might withdraw it before this date, and would like to fix now. 3.2% on £30k+ isn't bad at the moment

I'd like to fix now too, but Lloyds aren't letting me
Sorry, but you are not eligible for this ISA product, as you have either opened an ISA or deposited funds to an existing ISA this tax year. Please refer to the eligibility criteria for further information.

I logged in to both my wife's and my FRISA this morning and there was no interest showing:j Hopefully this means that the dates have finally been sorted:rolleyes:. Knowing Lloyds, this is by no means certain:rotfl:

My 6.5% FRISA matures on 1 April.

I transferred it into the 3.2% fixed rate today instead of waiting 26 days.

    Reasoning:

Get 3.2% for 1 year instead of

    6.5% pa for 26 days
plus possibly 2.75%(*) pa for 339 days
which averages 3.0% for 365 days

Marginal, but who knows how much lower these rates can go when base is 0.5% !

(*) Maybe less since base has fallen 1.5% since this 3.2% FRISA was introduced.

There will be £53k with the added 6.5% FRISA interest now earning 3.2% tax free for another year. I've had my share ISA trashed, so this is valuable stability.
