Well today's the day I was told that the rest of us would be offered mouth-watering FRISA's to follow on from the 6.5% offer. I'm not holding my breath though
You didn't look very far then here it is off the Lloyds Tsb website today, sorry I was 0.05% out!
Fixed Rate Cash ISA
For a limited time, you can open a Fixed Rate Cash ISA to help you make the most of your tax-free allowance. Open your account in just a few clicks, all you need is your national insurance number.- Fixed tiered interest rates. Earn 1.50% AER/Tax Free from £3000, and up to 3.20% AER/Tax free on balances of £30,000 or more. View interest rates and summary box
- Minimum opening deposit £3000
- Interest rate fixed for 12 months from account opening, guaranteed at all tiers, on the condition you don’t make any withdrawals. Any withdrawal within the 12 month fixed period will mean the loss of 90 days’ interest on the amount withdrawn.
- Interest paid on maturity, 12 months after account opening.
- Transfer balances from other ISAs when you open your account,
- At the end of the fixed term the account becomes a Variable Cash ISA.
This time they have "corrected" the duration period from,(the last FRISA), "date of deposit" to "from account opening"

I sent our applications off a couple of weeks ago, but have nothing back from them. Has anyone got confirmation letters to say they have been accepted for the new offer?0
-
Yes my wife did today, haven't had mine yet though....0

I took my letter and my wife's acepting the new FRISA offer in to the branch by hand a couple of weeks ago. The woman looked at it and said that she would send it in the internal mail. One would assume that it has got to where it should be by now and I would expect confirmation any time now.
I am sure that my account is flagged with something along the lines of MOG (Moaning old Git), in view of the numerous complaint letters and phone calls I have made when my FRISA was opened last year, and following receipt of the letter this year regarding date the FRISA matured. To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -
Hi,
I've had a look at Kazza's excellent post and given that Lloyds are paying 3.75% fixed (the early bird offer which has been extended) this seems to be the best rate currently available - has anyone else with the early bird offer concluded this as well or has anyone found any better offerings out there? Think I need to accept the offer by posting tomorrow to be sure I get the application in by the extended deadline of 20th Feb. Just wondering what others are thinking/doing.
Many thanks.0 -
I reckon that I would have got 3.25% in this early bird offer, as I have just short of 21k after 2009/2010 deposit added. I am sure there wil be better deals than that available in the coming weeks.Mortgage free

Yes, I was told they will be bringing some new rates out on the 16th - but I have to agree with ffacoffipawb's comment
The rates are better than I thought they might be, but less generous than the lucky ones deemed good enough to be worthy of the "early bird" offer.
Balance Early Bird Latest FRISA Difference
£30,000+ 3.75 3.20 -0.55
£21,000+ 3.50 3.00 -0.50
£15,000+ 3.25 2.50 -0.75
£9,000+ 2.75 2.00 -0.75
£3,000+ 2.25 1.50 -0.75
Someone with £50k in their ISA, plus this year's interest and next year's forthcoming subscription, is approximately £300 worse off next year compared to someone offered the early bird deal.
No point switching now. Because you lose the current 6.5% straight away.
My 6.5% matures on April 1st. Very appropriate. May wait a few weeks to see what else is available while I am still earning that rate.0 -
I called Lloyds this afternoon, and they confirmed that if I opened a fixed rate ISA I would be able to pay my 2009/10 ISA allowance into the account in April. This might be useful to someone who currently has just less than one of the interest rate thresholds - I would be able to open this account by transfering £18,000 from my existing ISAs, then pay an additional £3,600 into the account in April to get my balance over £21,000 and earn 3.5% instead of 3.25%.0

Both my wife and i have received our confirmation letters today for the new FRISA. The letter states:
Thank you for applying for the new Lloyds Fixed Rate Cash ISA.
We've processed your application and will transfer your total balance from your existing Cash ISA to your new Fixed Rate Cash ISA on your maturity date. Please see the original letter we sent you for your account maturity date.
If your old Fixed Rate Cash ISA matures in February 2009, or you originally had a variable rate Cash ISA, we'll transfer your balance on 1 March 2009.
Thanks for saving with us.
This is obviously good news as we are now locked in to a decent rate of interest for the next year. However, the letter throws up a question! It states please see the original letter we sent you for your account maturity date.
The original letter dated January 2009 stated your FRISA matured on 3 March 2009. A second letter dated February 2009 stated your FRISA matures on 7 April 2009, which is the first anniversary of the date that your first deposit was made into your account.
I cannot understand why Lloyds cannot get their act together and actually produce a letter that gives the correct information in a clear and concise manner. I will now have to contact Lloyds to see which letter they are talking about.:mad:To Dare is To Do:beer:0
