• Must be down to who you get. I was told straight away I could take up the offer, and was sent the letter a couple of days later. It wasn't questioned at all.

I keep getting refused. I will therefore be removing my £50,000 plus the £3,000 interest shortly. Back to the Yorkshire BS e-ISA from whence it came I guess.

It will be paying more than double Lloyds' insulting variable rate.
• I phoned the 0800 number today and asked for the letter, but was refused. The guy I spoke to said that the invitation-only offer was now closed, but that I should phone back on Monday as they are launching a new ISA offer. Has anyone else heard of this?

Yes, I was told they will be bringing some new rates out on the 16th - but I have to agree with ffacoffipawb's comment

With the fixed rate ending on 1 April (very appropriate) I guess I should start the wheels in motion to transfer to YBS's e-ISA some time in the next week or so, so as not to languish on these crappy rates which are due to be rduced by 0.5% following the fall in the base rate to 1% ...

Cash ISA rates

Cash ISA

Amount InvestedAER/Tax-free (per annum)
£21,000+ 1.50
£15,000+ 1.40
£9,000+ 1.25
£3,000+ 1.10
£10+ 1.00

Standard Life Bank's 3% looks very good compared with this crap.
• I just realised, i got a letter 2 weeks ago saying i could apply but had to be by 9th Feb :(

However, it does say "your account matures on 31st march" and i definatly did not have my first transfer until 28th April (and the bulk 23rd may)

so should i be waiting for a 2nd letter that corrects this error in the date? or am i too late now for the offer.

Lloyds TSB have extended to date for applications from the 9th Feb, to the 14th Feb....if I were you I'd go into your local branch and sign up ASAP.

I went into my branch a few days ago to pay in a cheque. When they accessed my account, it was flagged and they ask me to see their IFA. I thought great...they'll offer me the new FRISA....saw him yesterday and despite his best efforts I failed to get it. Lloyds TSB have used certain criteria to decide who does and who doesn't get the letter. Where people have complained that their spouses have had the offer and they havn't, Lloyds have usually relented. I reckon the next FRISA will be offered from 16th Feb. offering a maximum interest rate of 3.25%!

Do you reckon it will be this good? I think I would be happy with 3.25%

Well today's the day I was told that the rest of us would be offered mouth-watering FRISA's to follow on from the 6.5% offer. I'm not holding my breath though
