Oh my god, Wol, thats horrific. Lots and lots of dodgy hugs being sent your way - I can't believe what you're getting from these people. Glad to hear that you're able to invoice for such a lot of work, thats great, but you're being left seriously in the lurch by all of this.
Thinking of you.

Hi peepies
Well, made it through another evening. Thanks to Poor who has kept me from imbibing far too much wine (sorry about your phone bill Hun.....)..and thanks everyone for your very supportive posts...they mean a lot.:T
Still wide awake but need to be out and about to see clients early tomorrow (2 hours away) so stopped the vino and now on the coffee.
TBH - wish i could pass into oblivion tonight and not have to face reality for a few days.....but need to keep pressing on......earn a crust, be responsible.......etc etc
WaaaaaahhhhhhHHHHH!
By gum, that feels better! (Worst possible colour I could find)
So thanks again everyone for your posts........sometimes it helps to get a reality check...ad actually I don;t think I'm being unreasonable...despite what builders say...and your Posts are great ....really....many many thanks.

Ye gods, no, you're not being unreasonable!!!!! I'm a newbie on this thread, but even I can see you've had a really tough time.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well a rather despondent and panicky Wol tonight.......
The even more bad news is that today the loss adjuster notified he intends to settle my £30k contents claim and £18k out of pocket expenses claim (BTW - this is all kosher - not trying to rip the insurance company off in any way at all - seriously...)....for...............
.............
..........wait for it..............
£18K            (without negotiation or explanation ....huh!!)
I have had 10k already interim payments so final payment will be 8k......
The lost adjusters are in the wrong, they know they're in the wrong and they already know that you have a complaint in.
They could be either:- Throwing the toys out of the pram. They know that this is going to go all the way.
- Trying to butter up the insurance company. "Yes we know we're shit, but look at all this money we're saving you."
The lack of justification speaks volumes, they just want to give you hassle.and the business interruption/lost income of about 3k per month since last March = £36k.
Since you're going to have to go through the hassle of going through the insurance companies complaints procedure, then going to the ombudsman to get what you are due to, then put in a claim for everything. Business interruption being the very least of it.
Get it all in as soon as possible. I know you don't want to because of the hassle. Well, you have hassle, so make them pay for it.These numbers are so scarey my mind is switching off
:grouphug:Luckily my bank manager tonight was an absolute angel :A :A :A when I gave him the news I wouldnt be able to repay the £40k offset drawdown on my mortgage.....and the above details as a reason....he was completely unconcerned and has promised to take me out and get me pi**ed! (Apparently he's heard ever so many worse stories over the last few weeks)
Insurance companies are not good. And they are notorious for it. Do you remember the insurance advert "We won't make a drama out of a crisis.", with the big fish poking through the roof? Turns out they did make a drama out of a crisis, and the woman still had the letters proving they made a drama out of a crisis.
They had to abandon a multi-million pound advertising campaign because a lost-adjuster had been arrsey 40 years before.
Poetic justice. So I've rung the insurance company and made YET ANOTHER complaint (to be followed by yet ANOTHER letter tomorrow ) and also replied to loss adjuster refuting his offer and asking for a final reponse.
What's the time-scales for the previous complaint? Stick to them like glue - no mercy. And start bringing new complaints to bear.Unfortunately I feel another meltdown coming on - seriously - like October 07 - panic attacks wole me up at 4am this morning.......not good._pale_ _pale_ _pale_
Keep posting peeps please....you're my safe port in a storm...
xxxxx
PS But the good news - I sent out invoices today bringing the months total to £2k with another £3600 appointments already booked for rest of month...so hopefully might be able to top the 6k mark for this month :T :T
I really do feel like I'm two separate people at the moment - the calm business lady who is received with such enthusiasm for her advice/wisdom by her clients and the soon-to-be-hysterical private insurance claimant. .........Pause to chant Rudyard Kiplings "IF"
Do not worry - it will all work out. Just don't do anything rashly.
