Nothing to be nervous about at all. It's not like we're important... ;)

Well done to everyone with Valentines. Surprised the builders didn't try to butter you up with one Wol... ;)

    Hi hun

Sod the housework - life being too short and all that :rotfl:

Am much relieved about the flooding, as I was flying out it I saw that the forecast was that it was gearing up to rain quite a bit and I was wondering how you were getting on.

It is also good news that you have managed to get plenty of work in (although don't go burning yourself out now :naughty: )

And as for the Val Day card :T :smileyhea :happyhear :D

Yay Poor - back from your travels I see.

Hope you had a good time.

You;re right - I really do have to be careful about accepting any more work as I will end up burning myself out and while I could do all these hours before the flood, I am still not strong enough to focus for such great lengths of time at the moment. In any case, I have decided over the last 18 months that there really should be more to my life than working every hour of the day which is what I did previously.

So once I've got these contracts out the way b end of March (that is the end of the finaniail year hence they have to be completed before then) I shall be building in proper time to chill out at weekends and get my housework done, as well as time for playing the piano, going to the gym and cuddling the piggies.......carefully ;)

    Speak soon hun

PS (I had roast chicken tonight :D !)

Well a rather despondent and panicky Wol tonight.......

The even more bad news is that today the loss adjuster notified he intends to settle my £30k contents claim and £18k out of pocket expenses claim (BTW - this is all kosher - not trying to rip the insurance company off in any way at all - seriously...)....for...............
    .............

    ..........wait for it..............

£18K            (without negotiation or explanation ....huh!!)

I have had 10k already interim payments so final payment will be 8k......

So far therefore I'm out of pocket on the above to the tune of 30k. Add on to that the buildings claim fiasco with Dodgit Bodgit and Scarper against the rectification costs and I'll be out of pocket by another £15k (assuming they accept my counter offer and don;t take me to arbitration which will cost me £7k in fees on top of whatever is settled for which could be up to £25k against me). Then there's the bridge to repair (not covered on insurance - £10k+)...and the business interruption/lost income of about 3k per month since last March = £36k.

These numbers are so scarey my mind is switching off

Luckily my bank manager tonight was an absolute angel :A :A :A when I gave him the news I wouldnt be able to repay the £40k offset drawdown on my mortgage.....and the above details as a reason....he was completely unconcerned and has promised to take me out and get me pi**ed! (Apparently he's heard ever so many worse stories over the last few weeks)

So I've rung the insurance company and made YET ANOTHER complaint (to be followed by yet ANOTHER letter tomorrow ) and also replied to loss adjuster refuting his offer and asking for a final reponse. I'm waiting for the surveyor to come back from holiday to approve my draft reply to the builders which will go next tuesday but they don;t have to respond til mid March.

So whoever says you make money out of a disaster like mine on the insurance - think again, take a deep breath ...and please don;t EVER say it to my face or I won;t be responsible for my actions.:o

Unfortunately I feel another meltdown coming on - seriously - like October 07 - panic attacks wole me up at 4am this morning.......not good._pale_ _pale_ _pale_

Keep posting peeps please....you're my safe port in a storm...
    xxxxx

PS But the good news - I sent out invoices today bringing the months total to £2k with another £3600 appointments already booked for rest of month...so hopefully might be able to top the 6k mark for this month :T :T

I really do feel like I'm two separate people at the moment - the calm business lady who is received with such enthusiasm for her advice/wisdom by her clients and the soon-to-be-hysterical private insurance claimant. .........Pause to chant Rudyard Kiplings "IF"
