Am glad to hear that Grommie is back to his old self (randy little sod ) and well done for getting the business in.

I also read your post about your parents as them moving 4 doors down from you, my initial thought was 'BLOODY HELL - how will she cope???' am much relieved to hear that they are not.

Well here we are again peeps......the stream burst it's banks at approx 11pm tonight :eek: ... and the water has inched it's way up to within 4 feet of my front door. :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: ....the bridge is overwhelmed so I am effectively marooned....and I have to admit a tad scared even though I'm relatively confident my flood doors should prevent the water coming into the house

Luckily it looks like it is now starting to recede.....and I might be able to try and get some shut eye soon. However another 5mm of rain is forecast between 3 and 6am which will set it off again _pale_ _pale_

At least I had the foresight to park the car on the road, have moved everything I can to upstairs and ensured all the piggies are at least 30cm above ground level so should be safe and dry. (Funnily enough they were very fractious and noisy earlier.......until I moved those in the lower cages to the pet carriers on higher ground, then they all shut up - bless them, animals know..:A :A )

To cap it all, drove for 5 hours today in !!!!!! weather to see most frustrating client.......arrived home to find extremely offensive and personally insulting letter from builders who it appears are going to fight all the way to court....... still no word from insurance company...and my last surviving torch gave up the ghost :mad:
