The 1st letter would be a standard acknowledgment to them recieving your application, and the factthey have wrote again, is good as it means that someone is working on your case.
Its most proberly as its the 1st time that you have applied for DLA that they have contacted your GP, thats usually a couple of weeks by the time the GP gets round to writing the report.
I know its easier said than done, as in dont worry, but please try not to worry x

I just thought it was fairly quick really listening to the times people are waiting on here there seems to be a bit of a backlog so I was surprised to hear something so quickly even though its not that much. I would be very surprised if they didnt say I had to have a medcal as its my first application. Funny how they arent asking my consultants for a report though, I wonder why that is or maybe if they dont get enough info from gp they may approach them then. I read somewhere that gps get bonus payments for keeping people off benefits, this isnt true is it?

I plan to get down to the ib form this weekend so it can get posted early next week, going to send it by recorded delivery though just so I have evidence of posting I'll feel better as I heard they don't always confirm reciept
    Thanx

To be honest when you see a consultant they write to your gp, and this will then be filed, so there is no reason for them to contact the consultants directly.
You may well have to have a medical, but if that is the case, you can ask for a female doctor, I had a medical for my 1st claim, and she was at the house for about an hour, chatted about what I could do, what I couldnt, she looked at me walking around, going up the stairs (mine was predominately a mobility claim), and the medciation I was on, there not there to judge you, just to look at how you get through the day, they then pepare a report, which can take upto 6 weeks to get through the sysytem.
I wouldnt worry about this binus payment to gps, its just a pie in the sky rumour that gets started and ends up being blown all out of proportion, ur gp would not send anyone back to work unless they were able to do the job, it would be more than there jobs worth.

Id getteh OB sent back asap, and yes def agree re recorded delievery, a bit of peace of mind goes a long way.
Good luck with the form xx

think these numbers are free on BT ??

BT customers' calls to 0845 numbers and 0870 numbers from anywhere in the UK are charged at the local and the national rates shown respectively, but different rates apply to callers from a non-BT network.

They are free if you have a BT package that includes free calls (unlimited weekend, unlimited evening and weekend or unlimited anytime)

Do you think it will have been put in my notes when my daughter rang the surgery and spoke to the secretary about her concerns about me and my problems and my care from my doctor there?

Still waiting for anything more from the dla application but I know its early days with this yet.

I'm having real problems getting to do this ib50 form :( I know I have to do it and I will do it but I think its because it is so important and in a way I'm scared to face it because I'm so scared in case I fail it as I couldnt cope physically or mentally with work or even being on jsa :( I've read quite a bit about the way things are now with incapacity renewals and the new esa and I just feel its a lot to do at the same time with the dla and this aswell. The incapacity is more important really because I know I wont cope if it all goes wrong

I keep thinking my doctor is rubbish and I havent seen my consultants for over a year now because of my getting out problems so there wont be enough evidence and I know I might not have to have a medical but I think its more likely I will but just going there will be a nightmare. I think I've lost my place at the dentist now because it could have been over 2 years since I went and its only 200 meters away thats how bad it is for me to go out and theres loads of other things too long to list on here
    Thanx

Had a decision letter back today refusing me for both componants on evidence of my form, gp and a health care advisor (unclear who that was but I think its one of thier own doctors there) They didnt contact cunsultants and thier reasons why they refused dont tally with what I put on form eg it says I can walk more than 50 meters in an adequate way and mentions nothing about pain, I put 20 meters and far rom adequate with pain.

I made a new thread for advice on what to do now :(

I cant even think straight to take in the letter properly but I know I have to understand it more to explain to them on the phone, I phoned once but I'm confused about things
    Thanx
