Do you think its necessary to ring the dla to tell them the dates for 2 of my consultants appointments at the hospital have changed?

I put on the form the dates of my next appointments for these 2 but one got cancelled by the hospital and is now 2 weeks later. Because I have so much problem getting out I rethought the situation and decided to try and swap the other appointment to the same day so its one outing not 2. I just thought if they had decided to wait to contact my consultants till after the dates I had put on the forms perhaps I should let them know or do you think I shouldnt bother them with that?

They recieved my application on 27th feb and my appointments are now April 9th.

Still not filled in or sent the ib form off yet but have to get it done soon :(

By the way the phone number to ring once you have put in a claim is an 0845 number is there a geographical number for that?
    Thanx

To be honest at this stage I wouldnt let them know about the change in hospital - as its just a change of appointment - it would be different if the appointments were cancelled.

The 0845 number - basically its classed as a low cost number, and is meant to be cheaper to ring than a normal land line.

Cant help on the IB form, but really think you need to get on with it, (in the nicest of ways), only because they may think that you dont want to continue the claim etc if you dont return the paperwork. x

There are several phone numbers on saynoto0870, depending on where you live. I have tried to post the numbers, but it doesn't work properly.. If you follow this link, search for disability living allowance

Thanx Jazzy I'll check that out as I will prob have to phone them at some stage anyway :)

mum2one 0845 numbers arent cheap rate or lower rate than normal landlines but they give that impression. Whoever has the 0845 0870 numbers get paid a percentage of each call they recieve which is why they are cost more, this is why a lot of companies even doctors surgerys have changed to them because they make money out of us calling them. Also if you have to wait on the line you are still getting charged unfortunately
    Thanx

I use that site all the time, as I get free national calls with my broadband. I very rarely use 0870 or 0845 numbers now.

I got another letter from dla today saying sorry no decision yet because they have requested a report from my gp.

Do you think its fairly quick as I got a letter after a week saying they had recieved my application and this 2nd letter after another week.

Is this the normal procedure of asking gp first then having a medical? what is most likely to happen next?
    Thanx

It may be that they wont need you to have a medical ~ the GP report might be enough for them to decide ~ this would be good wouldn't it?

Yes it would be really good but my doctor is not aware of a lot of my care needs to be honest because I very rarely to to see her, about once every 18 months - 2 yrs on average so the report isnt going to contain a lot of information they would need I guess. They could have got reports from my hospital consultants but it doesnt say anything about that, would it have said they were asking for info from those specifically or could they be getting that info too anyway?
    Thanx
