Pash - the plating on the taps may well be differerent from the plug - that might be brass but I would guess the taps are plated and/or laquered (much like me - I am that laquered I am off to my pit shortly):rotfl:. Try rubbing with a soft cloth (and nothing on it) to polish it back...
Soappie again I am guessing but I would go for a leak at the top of your bay - running down. Check the flashing. Bays are notorious for this (but I still love my dream house;)) Water is funny stuff - and behaves unlike many other fluids (ie it expands when it freezes - other stuff contracts) It is also attracted to other things (think ions) so unlike, say mercury (which is attracted to itself) it will run down walls etc...So it could be coming in the top of your bay (probably where it joins the main wall, running along then down the frames and back along under and down the wall. That sounds like way too much water for damp or condensation - moreover the condensation would have been worse last week (if it were condensation) when outside was colder IYSWIM.
    Sorry!

Afternoon, just having a quick cuppa and a catch up after uni. Spoke to my mentor and he showed me 2 of my 4 results, they havent been double checked yet and may change, but so far i have 2 A's:D Was slightly over excited, hopefully they wont change! So i have an A for algebra and calculus and i know i've passed statistics but i dont know the grade yet:D
Need to get cracking on my list now....

Well done you! :T:T Hard sums  I've been looking through the OU lists wistfully (as I couldn't afford anything) and all the courses which appealed to me point towards humanities or archaeology. I'm signing up for some free courses which interest me just to keep my brain ticking over :rotfl:

Done today's list. Tomorrow I'm going to scrub the shower and do some more weeding out the back. I need to get some garden refuse sacks first though. Did some weeding today and it's looking better.

Will stick to level one as I think I will be able to manage that even if I have to do 2 days worth at once due to working late some days

I know it's a bit late for most of you but anyone fancy a HHC 8.45 - 9.15?

Hello, haven't been here for ages and the sheer frustration of the state of the house brought me back! Thanks juliejim, that HHC really boosted me. Living room and hall look much better. Kitchen tis a nightmare so will leave that til tom, just trying to get all the DW up to date - nearly there.

Soappie: is the upstairs/or downstairs bay also damp? Maybe go outside when raining &see if any probs with guttering. Try a damp meter (may help). I also found: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=15115335

Right, I will try a 27 fling in the kitchen in a tick to prepare for tomorrow. Am tired but must try. Good to be back.:T

Put youngest DS to bed 3 and a half hours ago and he is still not asleep, not upset really just not sleepy. Shouldn't have made him have a nap earlier, but he was sooo tired...

Have decided to do the bathroom tomorrow as well as it really needs it (especially after OH hung up his muddy waterproofs in there when he got home from work, drips of Mud Everywhere! Oh and he trod mud up the stairs  ) and I do the kitchen nearly every day to at least level 3 anyway. So have kind of done my own list

    Ragz's list

    Finish any washing up
    S&S kitchen
    Clean fridge
Clean fronts of cupboards and appliances

    Tidy bathroom
    Clear and sweep bathroom floor
    S&S Cistern, sink and bath
    Clean the loo
    Make the bathroom smell nice

    Finish mealplan list
    Make spag bol
    Vacuum LR
    WM load
    TD
    Fold laundry and put away
Vacuum stairs becuase OH trod mud up them

DS2 is finally asleep. Good, I will be soon am knackered and don't expect he'll lie in just because he was up late!
