sorry to crash in .. have posted on a thread and started a new one but I am in urgent need of expert advice .. hence also posting here as you are all experts!!!

trying to clean some gold coloured taps with the white vinegar trick and had a peek to see  the taps are now black!!!!!!!!!

so.. have I ruined them .. or .. does this mean the process is working?? what is also worrying me is that the plug and chain (on the same sink) has come up great (been soaking the same time as taps) so I am con~fuddled! any help gratefully received! thanks in advance xx

Sorry Pash haven't a clue re your taps, hope they come out ok.

Ooops just found this not looking good hun

Don't use vinegar for removing limescale deposits on gold-coloured taps or shower heads with "gold" parts - it will leave a black deposit on the gold.

The deposit will eventually come off with time though if you've already made this mistake!

Kitchen got hit today by default, as DH dropped a litre of full cream milk all over the floor!!!    Then DD1 lost her purse which has her bus pass and house keys in it.... So not the best start to my day!!!
I had an app. at the hip clinic with my dodgy hip, (which of course was fine today, aint that always the way:rolleyes: ) however, the good news is that there's no arthritis showing on the xray :j :j

My new WM was delivered yesterday, so I'm catching up on Mt Washmore. Only about 15 more loads to go!

Frodders lovely to hear about girlie in your class. Thanks for letting us know. More healing vibes sent for her too.

On the Chat thing.... I agree, it had got out of hand, I'm definitely one of the offenders, so I'll try to be a little considerate in the way I post now. :o But Toots I can't cope without your imput!!! So hear hear Flower beautifully put. :T I do believe we can easily strike a happy balance between either hundreds of repetitive posts or just soulless lists. And I, for one, appreciate the reminder to keep mostly on track. ;) But the support and nattering is what gives this thread it's heart and soul. Balance is what we need! :)

Beccah - I'm not sure - you can't use on varnished or lacqured surfaces - I use bio washing powder to soak my oven shelves.

  • Thanks for the flying around a homeworker tips - just a tad difficult here as its happening in the dining room which you need to go through to get from one end of the house to the other. However we've sort of agreed a few things so hopefully it'll work - but it is weird to have someone else in the house when I expect to be alone!

But my to do list today has mostly not been done yet as helped set up said office, then decluttered car instead. Should catch up tomorrow. But did bag some amazing rail tickets - two singles to Birmingham via London and back for £14, costs more than that to get to London normally. Thank you Martin. :money:

Now to parcel up some Amazon sales, and add to Ebay-ing pile as just found another couple of bits. Longish day at work tomorrow so will see you good people tomorrow evening.

    Happy Flying!

Cor, way too much to catch up on. Right, my list for today.

    Sleep in. Check.
Run around like a headless chicken getting kids sorted. Check.
    Burn porridge. Check.
    Stub toe. Check.
    Be late for school. Check.
Realise fly is down on jeans. Check.
    Shopping. Check.
    Be late for appointment. Check.
Be late for picking kids up. Check.
Deal with tantrum from youngest. Check.
Wake him up after tantrum. Check.
    Cook dinner. Check.
Look halfheartedly at mountain of dishes. Check.
Try to get little one back to bed. Fail. Check.
    Deal with another tantrum. Check.
    Stand on dog. Check.
    Spill coffee. Check.
Kids to bed and time for a bath.....oh PLEASE let it be soon. I smell like a gorillas armpit. Only slightly hairier, too.

Now that's my kind of list. I've done another washing load and i've realised I've done much too much today - no one telling me to stop!:rotfl:

We've had a lovely two evenings putting all the footage of the children onto dvd. I've laughed, i've cried (especially watching my favourite cat playing - she was put down about 7 years ago), it's been fantastic.

I'm going to have a very quick s/s of the back of the sofa and then retire to my pit.

Mini challenge: take all cups, plates, glasses from the living room and put them in the dishwasher / sink. You'll be pleased in the morning when you don't have to pick them all up from the floor.

Thanks Dusty, loaded up on bio-powder at costco yesterday, so will try that instead.

For those who asked, Asda and Sainsbury's sell Stardrops down here - and hex2, I did the same with too much in the WM and found out that bubbles can come back out the drawer very quickly :o :rotfl:

Mine's been up since 4 today (well he's in bed now) and he's up tomorrow at 3.30 with a night out!!!

    Hope you're feeling better now.

    In my HHC I:
Washed a load of dishes - still a few pans left but my drainer's full so they can wait until tomorrow.
Cleaned sink and filled with hot water and disinfectant.
Hunted (unsuccessfully) for verrucca ointment - may have to make an appointment at the docs to get DD some.

    That was about it!
