I asked to see manager when £14.99 bottle refused. 20 mins later he arived and said just put it through!

Not actually worth the 20 min wait!!!

But £14.99 wine all mine now :)

Well done. Did you entertain him as well? You could have done the okey cokey while you were waiting.

    Glad it worked!
I'm regretting being more timid now, but I just can't work myself up into enough of a fury to ask for the manager for things like this.

Good luck to others who are trying :)

As a Tesco manager I relish you coming into my store. It would give me some entertainment for the day.

How would you get round this one? it is not a missprice, but a clearly worded advert,I would have thought you were legally bound to honour the sign.

As a 'customer' I think I'll go to one of your competitors as I would hope your senior management would find it highly inappropriate for you to gain entertainment from your company's errors.

In fact, just to put that to the test let us know which Tesco's you manage and I'm sure one of us would be only too happy to write to your line-manager to inform him of your attitude to customers. :naughty:

    It's the Comet/Curry's interpretation ............

'' I know you think you know what I meant but I am unsure whether you appreciate that what I said was not what I meant to say ''

    Ergo ........ NO

Edit : That quote is from my O/H, frequently used when I say Whattt ?

I doubt he/she will have the guts to say which store they manage.

I am a stock control manager for a Scottish store, thats about as much as I will tell you. Its more of an annoyance when people think they can take advantage of obvious mistakes. Yes everyone will scream at me "how am I supposed to know," but it wouldn't wash with me, if a customer was pretty genuine then in the interests of customer service I'd allow them a bottle, but picking up a £15 bottle is a bit extreme.

And for Bumble, no I'm not a glorified shelf stacker, stock control managers are actually the people who order the stock and try to make sure that the products are available in store, so my job is actually more office based, however that said, I'm not scared of going to fill a shelf.

Can I suggest to anyone wish who has to deal with an obnoxious manager like this while trying to take up this offer that they report their branch to trading standards and their local newspaper.
    Tesco will be reeling
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j
