To be fair, most of the people that would have got one probably wouldnt post on here saying so, Tesco staff read this forum as you can see and misprices like this are a surefire way of bring attention to yourself.

But it's not as if we all have photos on here or name ourselves....all of us could be anyone; this is the internet after all!! Besides which, I'm really not bothered if they read this or not; after all, their head office already knows about it as, like I said earlier, I spoke to a really lovely man from Dundee earlier. Just the front line staff are the battleaxes.

I know, but some people mention the stores they visit, then to come on here and say "I had a big row with CS who wouldnt let me have a vintage bollinger with my meals for £9" wouldnt exactly make it hard for Tesco staff to find out who you are.

  • True, true. I only tried to buy a £6.99 bottle of wine.

I was just looking on Facebook, look for Tesco in groups and there's a whole group slagging off customers, much like M&S has.

Finally saw this offer for myself in my local. No, the signs do not specify which items are included in the deal, although they have put a selection of mains, sides, puds and wines along the relevant signage in one bay. Didn't bother as the choice wasn't great.

I do have a question though. This is obviously done to take on the M&S deal. As I remember, the M&S was laid out exactly the same in store - all the included products in one place, food & wine, with signage around saying '1 main, 1 side, 1 dessert, 1 wine' etc. Yes, some helpful people gave us lists on here telling us what was included, but I don't remember seeing any specific products pointed to instore. So, out of interest, did anyone try and argue the case for a £10+ bottle of vino in Marks?

No comments from Tesco staff today? I was hoping one of them could tell us what their bosses had said (besides 'keep off that *!!*#! MSE forum')
  • No, in M&S, the wines they were offering were, as you correctly said, in the relevant section but they also had some other little displays of them saying they're part of the deal. Because they were decent wines (I've never had a bad one from there even the cheapies) and around £5.99 and there were really nice foods included in the meal deal, I never bothered. Thing with Tesco is they have one cheap, nasty red and one cheap nasty white now (as of today I guess) in the chiller cabinet. M&S specified only certain ones whereas Tesco didn't but then tried to with their stupid wines in the chiller, and it was more their attitude that made me want to go all out for DTD.
