**Patty** wrote:If the child was born after 1st December 2003....then he has automatic PR.
Not sure but i assume the automatic rights are if the father's name is on the birth certificate and sadly the OP's BIL is not on the birth certificate
Edit just to add this bit i found
For children born after 1 December 2003, the situation is different. Unmarried fathers can get parental responsibility by:
registering the child's birth jointly with the mother at the time of birth - this is now quite common and many parents choose to do this
re-registering the birth if you are the natural father
marrying the mother of their child or by obtaining a parental responsibility order from the court

"re-registering the birth if you are the natural father"
Can this be done anytime after the birth, even now, 9 months later?0 -
I suspect the mother would have to agree to it, and from what you have said she may not be so keen in doing this.Hit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.

Hi
Im new here and in need of some advice, heres my story.
I have a 10 year old boy from my first marriage and his father hasent paid me a penny at all.
I went to csa in 2005 but they only have record from 2006 .They assesed my ex and told me and him that he had to pay £60.41 a week plus additional payments to clear £2000 arrears.
After my ex learned this he went up the wall and told me csa have got it wrong because his boss has been paying wrong for the past few years and that his boss will sort it out with csa that he should be on minimum wage and wouldnt have to pay much or pay at all.I know he is fiddling this just to get out of paying. And cant get my head round the fact his boss is reducing his wage to get out of paying.
But im wondering if his boss can do this? can his boss change his wage to minimum wage after so long ?
Its just so annoying that he and his new girlfriend are walkin round in expensive clothing ,latest mobile phones and driving round a flashy car (not insured tax or tested though). While im struggling to buy trainers for the poor lad.
I phoned csa up today and they are no use ,i get more sense out of my 3 year old..lol
Has anyone been in this situation? Any advice would be appriciated.
thanks0 -
For a change, a quick note on the csa from a different perspective...
Please everybody who pays csa maintenace check your payment schedule. My husband received a new schedule today, where his payments have been increased due to 'arrears'. I called the csa instantly and spoke with our delegated member of staff, who is very helpful may I add. I asked how come payments are to be increased as we only had these revised a few months ago, and they already include arrears. She said she had no idea why this was sent out and it must be some kind of computer error. Thank god i called, otherwise they'd be taking more money than they need to.
Check your payment schedules please!!! Don't get caught out.Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives
