We had people coming over on Sat (early) evening and I decided to do antipasti. Thought it would cost a fortune but managed to still get the weekly shop for around 25 quid! :T I shop on Friday evenings so that's how I plan my menus. There are apples, bananas, clementines, dried fruit, carrots and celery for snacks. Also a week's worth of biscuits left from Xmas pressies so I won't need to bake anything. Packed luches all week for hubby are soup Mon-Wed, then cheese and chutney sarnies - he also takes a yoghurt, apple and banana. We drink tap water with meals, otherwise it is milk, coffee or tea.
Friday: Lasagne (from freezer) with watercress on the side
Saturday- Brunch from Greggs (naughty, I know)
- Antipasti which consisted of a warm pasta salad with sundried toms, some oil from the jar and watercress, tuna and bean salad, marinated mozzarella, olives (left from Xmas), parma ham, gorgonzola, breadsticks and part-baked ciabatta with artichoke dip and extra virgin olive oil with balsamic vinegar in for dipping - we had coffee and continental biscuits (Xmas pressie) afterwards. There was a bottle of red lurking and some no-alcohol Becks for me left from Xmas.
- Cornflakes with raisins; O.J.
- Steak pie (from freezer) with peas, sweetcorn and bread and butter - Yorkie puds with raspberry jam (the 60s mealplan thread reminded me of how good these are!)
- Tomato soup and toast - Trifle made with leftover cake, cherry jam, custard and a vanilla yoghurt lingering in the fridge. Edited to day: this trifle was yum! Will be saving a vanilla yog in future esp to make this!
- Pancakes for breakfast (made with leftover yorkie mix) with lemon and sugar; O.J.
- Spicy tomato and lentil soup (with loads of carrot in too); apple
- Jambalaya (making double to freeze) - Trifle from yesterday
- Pancakes for breakfast (made gallons of mix!); O.J.
