A nice big nappy pad should do the job lol. I change enough of them to know they work.
I'm not a cat lover but use to look after the one next door when they went on hols. He was a devil and would cuddle up in my bed at night. I have to confess he did grow on me but when he left a mess under the bed I was not to happy lol.

Brother was eleven, I was three!. Would be child cruelty now. Then it was fun. Food was still rationed, as soon after WW2. Lots of people grew stuff.

We had a Golden Cocker Spaniel, only answerable to mum. Brother and me would attempt to walk her, but once out of sight of the house she would sit and refuse to budge. Much to the amusement of the other kids and needless to say our shame.
Snappy too. Due to so much inbreeding to fulfil demand for the nation's favourite dog. (Think it was due to a Hollywood film, later overtaken by Wire Haired Terrier)
The horses then were workers. Delivering coal, milk whatever.
They'd stop for a break, eating from a nosebag.
Perhaps a bottom bag would have been appropriate too Berty.
    Wonder if such things existed?
( Hope those nappies are small and not the adult size Berty)

They are adult size, you have to have a good sense of humour when you're a care assistant or you would never handle it.

Thank God for people like you Berty. A strong reflux helps too. How you do it, I'll never know. Thankyou.
Hope they allow a "pill" for me in the next few years to "pop off"
You should not have to do it.

Its not a job to me its helping someone who needs that little bit of love and at the same time showing respect, dignity and above all the care they deserve.
    I'm a real softy really:o

Big hug to you Mutter and FC :kisses2:

I know its not the right forum but I would just like to share this with you. Its a poem called the following.

    Crabby Old Woman .............

    What do you see, nurses?
    What do you see?
    What are you thinking
    When you're looking at me?

    A crabby old woman,
    Not very wise,
    Uncertain of habit,
    With faraway eyes?

    Who dribbles her food
    And makes no reply
When you say in a loud voice,
    "I do wish you'd try!"

    Who seems not to notice
    The things that you do,
    And forever is losing
    A stocking or shoe?

    Who, resisting or not,
Lets you do as you will,
    With bathing and feeding,
    The long day to fill?

    Is that what you're thinking?
    Is that what you see?
    Then open your eyes, nurse,
    You're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am
As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding,
As I eat at your will.

I'm a small child of ten
    With a father and mother,
    Brothers and sisters,
    Who love one another.

    A young girl of sixteen
    With wings on her feet
    Dreaming that soon now
    A lover she'll meet.

    A bride soon at twenty,
    My heart gives a leap,
    Remembering the vows
    That I promised to keep.

    At twenty-five now,
I have young of my own,
    Who need me to guide
    And a secure happy home.

    A woman of thirty,
    My young now grown fast,
    Bound to each other
    With ties that should last.

    At forty, my young sons
    Have grown and are gone,
    But my man's beside me
    To see I don't mourn.

    At fifty once more,
    Babies play round my knee,
    Again we know children,
    My loved one and me.

    Dark days are upon me,
    My husband is dead,
    I look at the future,
    I shudder with dread.

For my young are all rearing
    Young of their own,
And I think of the years
And the love that I've known.

    I'm now an old woman
    And nature is cruel;
'Tis jest to make old age
    Look like a fool.

    The body, it crumbles,
    Grace and vigor depart,
    There is now a stone
Where I once had a heart.

    But inside this old carcass
    A young girl still dwells,
    And now and again,
    My battered heart swells.

    I remember the joys,
    I remember the pain,
    And I'm loving and living
    Life over again.

    I think of the years
All too few, gone too fast,
    And accept the stark fact
    That nothing can last.

    So open your eyes, people,
    Open and see,
    Not a crabby old woman;
    Look closer . . . see ME!!

Every time I read this it brings a tear to me.
  • I love that poem Berty - it always touches me.

I empathise with your feelings. Dogs, and their owners, are becoming a total pain.
I drive a round trip of 11 miles to escape the undesirables to walk my dog in woods.
Why then do I have to slide through a sea of filth that other dog owners, because it is woods, see fit not to clear their dog's mess?
My dog has maybe according to our vet, another 18months life left. After that, I won't have another for various reasons.
The proliferation of dog hating breeds.
The inability it seems to clean up, and I am lumped among them.
The increase of treating dogs as family. e.g, fur babies, my girl, my boy etc.
Mostly though, my next dog would be likely to outlive me, plus I may not be fit enough to pick up after my dog in a few years.

But then dwileflunker, I canot stand other people's children.

Do you have any by chance?

ETA. Troll is so overused. Just because someone has a different view, doesn't make them a Troll.

Yes I have one, although she is many many years past the age when she could be called a child. Having seen first hand the terrible results inflicted on a child by a so called friendly dog I make no apologies for thinking that most dogs should be put down. My post was a response to the original post regarding a dog attack.

Thank you for accepting that I have opposing views and that I am not a Troll.

Troll: someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.

That pretty much sums up your post.

It's nothing to do with you having an opposing view, and everything to do with your post being irrelevant, inappropriate and inflammatory. The original post was about a dog on dog attack, and not about dogs biting people. If you want to start a discussion on the rights and wrongs of dog ownership, then do it in the Arms, where it belongs.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

Don't get all upperty and childish just because I don't agree with your viewpoint. Unfortunately in some cases a dog on dog attack can be a precurser to a dog attacking a human, although I'll accept not all that often. but if it happens once then to me it's once too often. I bet you've never seen a child with their cheek ripped open by a friendly dog, so please don't lecture me on what I can and cannot say here or anywhere else. If you think I'm a Troll then all well and good, you have a right to use your one brain cell anyway you wish.
