I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
  • Evening everyone!
Well I've done it- I moved last weekend. We're pretty much settled in, everything has been unpacked and my daughter loves her new 'big' bedroom. The landlord/lady are fantastic and have done the place really nice. I've got a spangley new bathroom and bath which after the last place is bliss :) I'm nearly ready to settle down and have this baby in 10 weeks time lol

I've got to say the best help ever came from the CAP group. 12 people turned up last saturday with a van and cars and they moved and shifted one house to the other- they were amazing.

pulliptears- thank you so much, i'm sorry I haven't replied sooner. I think I've shocked myself just how bloody minded I can be!

very confused here as well. you say you have no money for deposit etc but then you say you have 1500 pounds. one way to poss get help is to get your landlord to serve an eviction notice on you. secondly, it might be as well to try and look for a job, it does mean that you will have to put your little one in nursery, but the government do help you with that if you are working, up to 70% of costs, you will also get family working tax credit as well. unfortunately it is extremely hard to balance ife and i do feel sorry for you. You will need to find somewhere much cheaper, even if it means that you only get a two bed place, it doesnt have to be a house, there may be small flats. but perhaps you could find somewhere with a small dining room that you could turn into a bedroom. Even if it means you have to sleep in your youngsters bedroom. Unfortunately there is no easy answer for anyone here to give you, but i do have sympathy for you as have been there but have managed to drag myself out of it with a lot of struggle.

So pleased that everything has turned out well for you
  • Hi
I recently applied for a deposit and 1 mths rent in advance from my local council to rent a 3 bed house but was told i didn't qualify as i wasn't threatened with homelessness. My daughter, my grandaughter and myself are living in a very small 1 bed bungalow, which they admit is overcrowded but i still dont qualify.
I have been told by people in the know that the only way they will help me is if i dont pay my rent ( which i have been unable to do this month) and get taken to court and evicted. I dont want to do this but it looks inevitable. I am also dealing with social services...but i managed to get £25 worth of food vouchers!!!
Anyway, i wish you luck...if you are on any benefits maybe you can get a crisis loan or something.
