i'm not gonna shout at anyone... why would i shout that you want to stay at the 120th best hotel in new york, compared to the 118th...

I stayed at the affinia 50, which is supposed to be one of the best hotels in NYC. the hotel was nice, but the location, for me, was a bit... meh!!

    cosmo is a great hotel...

We paid, for the Hampton Inn Soho $2170 for a city view room for 10 nights. We looked at the Cosmopolitan as I have always wanted to stay there, but the Hampton Inn ended up being cheaper. All together for our 3and a half week trip which included Boston, Philly, Washington DC and Atlantic City we have paid £1400 each, which includes flights from Manchester to Newark and then internal flights from Newark to Boston and back. Plus trains from Newark to Philly and then Philly to NYC. I think thats a pretty decent price.

thats a good amount and well done for thinking ahead have you used this method for payment of your holiday too and when you say 1400 each does that mean every one pays 1400 or like me was mrs-face and three young faces.(so 1400 each would have cost me 7k not 1400 each) We traveled to NYC in feb 07 when xchange rate was $2 so spent up on decent hotel and spent a small fortune on things to bring back for Auntie eBay and her brother Uncle Amazon it never paid for holiday but prob paid for the goods we brought back for personal. handbag sunglasses camcorder etc

    Yes thats the one.

Thomas Cook said this was the best deal they could find after phoning about 10 different companies, and after researching it appears they are right.

Only bugbear for me is sharing a double bed with my mate and the other two are in double bed in same room,if Brad Pitt was going well i wouldn't mind;) but I snore like a trooper and think my friends are going to be pretty peed off with me by end of trip

I like the flight times and dates but just realised that sales for after thanksgiving start on the 27th so we will miss them by going on the 30th but hopefully they will still be on? Anyone know about this?

Is it worth perhaps going on the Saturday the 27th? To get the sales and wont use so much holiday from work either

    Thanks for your help

  • Hi all,
I am off to NYC for the first time for 5 nights with my dd1 on Saturday, leaving Heathrow at 17.30 by American Airlines. We are staying at the Wellington Hotel, has anyone stayed there? How long is the journey from JFK to the Hotel? After arriving the following morning at 1am will the clock go forward the same as here?
Really getting excited about the trip and have enjoyd reading through this thread about the exciting places to go and things to do etc.
