    PhatBear,

well there is a first time for everything isn't there.

I'm reiterating the point that this thread is to help people go to NYC, not to tell people that you hated your holiday, even when you didn't ask for help on finding out what there is to do. If someone has a problem with advice given then by all means I'll help in correcting things!

as for the post about more culture in London than NYC, all I can say is avoid times square/midtown, and explore the other areas of NYC, and there is plenty of culture!
  • I've just started a new thread in case people miss it on here.
Virgin are doing air fares until end of May to Newark at £225.
    It's a special bookable until 4th March.
Don't know if it has actually started yet (from 26th) as with just a cursory glance I saw flights at £259.66 economy.
    Premium Economy at £499 too.

To be fair, I suspect it was supposed to be feedback. My OH does not want to ever return to NY - she was not that keen overall. In her case, she found the hustle and bustle overwhelming, to quote her "it was full of people rushing about but getting no-where" (although we went in July/August and the heat was overwhelming and sort of spoilt it a bit), which sort of sums up NY BUT for lots of people, that is exactly what they like about it. NY is definately like marmite!

Only a few more hours to go, already checked myself in online at Continental, and printed off all my documents. And then I'm ready to head out the door at 5:20AM to cath the train to Bristol Airport...

Still can't believe the Hyatt didn't get back to me sooner :(:(

have a great time and do all the things on you big list and more . Someone has just said Ny is like marmite i totally agree. You have to remember unlike most "holiday" destinations (florida costa turkey oz) New york is a working city with people trying to go about doing everyday jobs and shopping walking their dogs etc. That is what i find beautiful

Does anybody know if you can check in online with American Airlines? Our flight is at 8.00 sat 14th march, but we will get to Heathrow around 1am. Was wondering how long beforehand we can check in?
