Personally when I 1st went to NY i thought I would hate it, i took my other half for her 40th but I really was'nt looking forward to it.
However if you can accept it for what it is you end up loving the place and ive got my 3rd trip coming up in aug, dont get me wrong if i want culture and history I go to rome/barcelona/berlin, and eventually when I get my bum in gear if i really want a totally different culture I will go and do the far east, have'nt got much of an excuse as my bro lives in vietnam.
However I found the hussle and bussle of NY amazing, the same way i feel about london, then add to that all the iconic views and the great food and the amazing shopping, oddly enough im not a huge fan of the americans as a nation but thats just a personal bug bear.
Each to their own I guess and we would live in a boring world if we all liked the same things, personally I could never bring myself to go to magaluf or the costa blanca etc, so its horses for courses.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Same here, I thought they would annoy me when I went the first time, but I just loved talking to New Yorkers and getting a feel for the place, made the trip even better.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
I wasnt too keen on New York either.
The vivid memory i have is the !!!!!ous smell all around the place!
Seeing the Statue of Liberty was good and i enjoyed the Rockerfeller Centre, but the rest wasnt what I was expecting.0 -
thats horrible you didnt enjoy youself because its alot of money spent but there was some parts of america that i didnt like too but other parts i loved.
You havent really said what it was you hated was it the people or the hustle /hassle or prices commercialism ?? what is your favorite ever holiday
ever and what is your age range if you dont mind me asking (just nosey because i went to ny with a wheelchair user, made me aware if i was dodgy on my feet you can get swept along beyond the pace you dont want to go)
I dont regret going, as I never have regrets. If I had not gone, I would always wonder what if. I have been experienced it and hated it.
I am 38 and my wife is 25.
I thought, I would love it, as I love London, but I hated everything about it, the hussle and bustle, the shops, the people, just everything.
IMO its the most boring place ever.
At least with London you have the hustle and bustle, and far better views, and better things to do.0 -

I dont need to reason. I just found it incredibily boring and hated everything about it.0 -

One more day and then I'm off to New York City baby..yeah...(lol)..
Also just been offered a reduced agent rate at the Hyatt Grand Central Station for $80.00 a night.. Why do these hotels always come back to me last minute with good rates (normal agent rate is $130.00!)Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0 -

I too prefer London over New York...There is more culture and more to do.
And dirtier? No Way, in NYC there were bin bags all over the place and as i said previously the smell was rank!0 -
Oi Mr Moo Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
I, and im sure a a lot or people appreciate your sharing of info about NY, but you have to accept that people are entitled to their opinion, and as you've said this is the first person to say they didnt enjoy so dont take it personally.
And saying you dont want any feedback to your post is silly and closed minded, which are 2 things i dont expect from you.
Chill out fella and just ride with the punches.
Mr BLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
