yes... tbh.. you'll still have a 10 - 15 minute wait (great for smokers, needing a nicotine hit!!) once you've called them, as they don't really have a car there for you, you're allocated one (they have loads around), and then they come, and wave a number out the window.. you see the number, you wave at them, and then the driver helps with the bags..
my flight lands at 1.30pm, and i've booked 2.30pm, however, if you're earlier, or slightly later, it really doesn't matter. they know what flight you're on, so they know when you land.. all logistics, and it does work...0 -
I've updated the getting into and around manhattan today, to clarify a couple of pieces of information, and to put the details about the carmel car service offer in!0

Hi, im sorry if you get asked this all the time, but im just panicking! Im flying to New York on sunday for the first time (i cant wait!), im flying from belfast into newark with continental airlines and was going to get the train as i am staying on East 32nd street. Do i just get the train straight from the airport to penn station in new york or do i have to change at any stations? Thank you for your help!0

i'm not annoyed as this hasn't been asked plenty of times, i'm annoyed that you haven't even read the first, or even this page of the thread
then if you had done, you'd know there is a getting into and around manhattan guide updated today and within that guide it clearly states the followingNewark
Newark isn't actually in New York. It is in New Jersey. But it is so close to Manhattan it is a good airport to fly into.
Taxi - Taxi's cost between $35 - $55 plus tolls (around $8) and tips (15%) and can take anything between 20 minutes up to an hour. Works the same way really at the airport, get a taxi from the dispatcher, and sit back and enjoy.
I know this is a guide how to get TO New York, but bear in mind that a NYC Taxi will charge you the meter fare plus $10 when going to Newark, because it is "out of state". Maybe a car service will be better?!
Public Transport
AirTrain again, this time it takes you to Newark Liberty International Station. It takes 20 minutes, and costs $5.50.
Purchase a ticket from NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak and the AirTrain Newark fee of $5.50 will be included
Then from Newark Liberty International Station, NJ Transit trains into Manhattan.
i don't mean to be rude, but you've waited 10 minutes for an answer that has been there for ages...

Hi, thanks for your reply, to be honest i did read the first thread and that link, but i just found it a bit hard to understand, I thought the newark liberty international station was at the airport.. so basically, i get on the airtrain at the airport to the station and change trains? I also wasnt sure what NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak was.. and to be honest i still dont.. do i just buy this ticket at the airport?0
