  • I returned from New York recently and what surprised me was how cold it was in the shade (pretty much the whole of Manhatten)
Yet get to Battery park and the piers (where the kids can fish can't remember the name) and it was lovely and warm.

Get the Airtrain to Jamaica, then the subway to Manhatten, its $5 per person for the airtrain and $2.75 for the subway.

I disagree, with that much luggage, 2 cases each, it'd be a nightmare on the subway.

As I've recently and repeatedly said, prebook a car service with carmel or dial7

There is a guide on page 1 of the thread about getting into and around manhattan, all that is said about getting into, can be applied about getting back to the airport.

I disagree, as long as she/he gets the Express then I cant see the problem tbh. I did it alone with 2 kids and all our luggage no problem.

The Airtrain was never more than about 1/10 full and i never had to stand once on the subway. Having driven from Newark to JFK previously i found the train to be far quicker and more efficient. Its about 30 - 45 mins from JFK to Manhattan.

As long as they get to Penn Station theres no problem, they can get a cab from there. Cheaper and quicker
