Let the pilot drink the beer and you fly the chopper.

Or you could do it sort of the way I did - in HK they pick up people from the hotel (it has a heilpad on top) - so there's a flight in the morning from the depo to the hotel which is obviously empty - thats how I got mine for free :D

Do they store the choppers somewhere overnight not at the helipad?? Then if you can get out there - they might fly you back into NY for the fuel cost or something...of course arrange it before you go out there ;)

Or you could just find a female pilot and romance her :D

Yes! I have fallen head over in heels.

Whats the cheapest you can do New York on do you reckon? I wonder if there someone out there has spent a stupidly small amount and got flights, hotel and spending money.

    Me first please :D

I had a total NY flashback while out running yesterday - gentle snow, fierce wind and Cleopatra's Needle in the background *sigh* - I want to be running in Central Park again :(

Me too, although I wasn't jogging but sliding through crowds of people on my way to work. I also got to wear my earmuffs I bought in NY!

I am well up for a group trip!

cheap flight, say £250 if you get the lowest price possible
    cheap hostel £10 a night
food drink - eat sensibly $20 a day

so really, for 5 nights, the lowest possible is £300, plus $100

but that is really really cutting it fine!

    Hey Guys,

Spent the last couple of hours reading through both (new and old) threads. I am going to NY in April so its great using this wealth of info to make sure me and the OH have the best time possible. I know a few people have commented about the New York Pass but not many have stated their opinions (if its worth the money, any hassle etc). Its alot of money ($149 - 7 days) so wanted to be certain before I buy one and where better to find out :D

I will no doubt spend the rest of the evening searching best pubs etc etc. Thanks M for putting all this togeather!
