    Carriage ride around central park

You'll have PETA and every other animal rights bods throwing rotten carrots at you if you do.

A few reason why you shouldnt take a carriage ride follows:

The horses are in a sorry state and its not seen as "acceptable" to take one of these rides, only miss informed tourists tend to bother.
    Its expensive
The drivers have a reputation of leaving you where ever you are once your time has run out.

Be under no illusion that im a tree hugger, hell my carbon foot print is about the size of texas but im not down with animal suffering for our pleasure, unless the end up being something tasty.

Far better, and cheaper, to get a map and wander around central park, after all you can get to far more interesting parts of the park that a carriage cant get to, for example you cant get to strawberry fields by carriage.

I HAVE to buy pop tarts and Reeses while in NYC (in the flavours we can't get over here)

For all the variances of reeses the hersheys shop in times square may be the place to be.

I must have been very lucky then as we had an irish guy with a perfectly well conditioned horse (i know this from looking after horses myself) he was extremely cheap and he took us on a loop and returned us to where we got on. I understand that some of the horses were in a bad way but i chose very carefully and had a good experience from it
I am only me, no pretences, no second guesses.. It's the best I can do, I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you... I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you :A

2 days to go and im off, hoorah, however everything seems to be conspiring against me, got stacks of stuff to print, and the kids have broken the printer and on top of that we are taking both of them for the 1st time and the eldest, 15y.o. has decided to turn into the spawn of satan, deep joy!!!!

Im sure all my woe's will disappear when i've got a belly full of pancakes and bacon and a nice strong cup of coffee to wash it down.

Totally agree with you. We had a lovely horse, fantastic driver, and did the loop round.

The driver stopped for the horse so he could have a drink, in which time we got him to take our photo, then went and checked the horse out (misses likes em) before carrying on round the park. Would recommend it al and our horse 'george' was lovely and well looked after.

remember you can only bring back £340 worth of "other goods and gifts" though... wouldn't want you to get caught at Customs..

Say hello to NYC for me.. i'll be there in less than 3 weeks!!!

Hi all. Marky a HUGE thank you for your subway guide. We got back yesterday after 10 glorious days. They had a heatwave for our entire stay-beautiful weather. The thunderstorms on a couple of days were scary though:eek:I was dreading using the subway but followed the guide to a tee and we where fine.

Phatbear, my 16 year old son was a complete pain up the you know what half the time, so i feel your pain, lol. You were so right about the bape store.I don't get why it takes people so long to choose anything.DS was in his element in the awful place, lol.

We did tons of shopping, but my best find was a pair of 7 for mankind jeans reduced from $175.00 to 11.99:j:j:j

I really loved NY this time round. We did hershey world which was lovely and hershey is a quaint little place.Everyone seemed to love our accents as they don't tend to get british tourists there.

I cannot wait to to go back now. Thanks to everyone on this thread for tips ect.
:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:
