Im going in 3 weeks for 8 nights, my first ever trip to new york!!
Flying from birmingham with continental and staying at the helmsley on 42nd street, got the deal from expedia for 680 a few months back, direct flights which was the key.
Have made so many plans already re trips, shows, got tickets for baseball, us tennis open, cruise, looking to buy tickets for wicked (any decent sites apart from ticketmaster, they are the cheapest and its still quite expensive)?
Also any beach resorts people could recommend, may make the day trip down to atlantic city if we have the time, has anyone done that?
Regarding spending money, have had to spend alot the last few months so am struggling and dipping into savings isnt an option, so i will probably take £500 cash (maybe some of it on the fair fx card, do they offer the best rates, never heard of it before!) and the rest will be spend on the interest free PO credit card...if it ever arrives!0 -
I bought Wicked tickets... short answer is no
Because its mostly sold out for quite a long time, the only tickets available are obstructed-view ones from ticketmaster, or you can buy better seats from sellers.. thats what I did, I've got two seats third from the front, but I did pay a lot from them.
Some people will recommend the tkts booths, but there's no guarantee they will have any wicked tickets available... and that put me off a bit!
I hadnt heard of the fair fx card before, but it does seem to offer the best exchange rates.. not by a lot, but every penny counts! Googled it and its only had positive reviews as far as I can see...0 -

I followed that link
I was really impressed actually, I even got a phone call yesterday to just confirm my details, and they said they would be sending the cards out shortly.
On the ticketmaster website, it doesnt tell you about the obstructed views... but I found another website which shows the seats... I think I found it through broadway box, but cant be sure?0 -
I'd quite like to get tickets for baseball too actually. The Yankees are playing when I'm there and cheapish tickets are available for $15-25. Considering I don't actually know anything about the sport, has anyone else been and think it's worth it?0

yep iv bought tickets for my visit from stubhub.com, printable e-tickets, have never been before but think it would be great to go to the match cos of the atmosphere as well as the game! The cheaper tickets will be in the top sections so maybe worth paying abit more for closer seats.?0
