The dollar is the highest today than what its been in about 8 months.

Highstreet rate average today looks to be $1.64 ( gone up 2 cent since yesterday)

I went to New york in October and it had gone down to about 1.60ish then just kept going down down down................. but its really looking good now.

I go to new york again in November, im hoping to get $1.70 ( Highstreet rate) by October - i remember a few months ago i was happy with 1.50 then it just kept getting better.

Lets hope it will hit the 1.70 mark in the next couple of months.

    lol

I paid £434 for my flight...£168 a night hotel.... and bought my dollars last week and got 1620 dollars for my grand...it can only get better :rotfl:

oh and I rang BA today telling them I had a spare 2 days and asked what it would cost to change my flight back from the 18th to the 20th...

for three of us it would be around the £700 mark to change it

Steph, when do you go away? If you going away within a few weeks then maybe you should?

As i said im going away in November so i've got a while yet and i'm keeping my eye on it for the next few weeks to hopefully reach 1.70- if it does i think i'll prob buy then just incase... id rather buy and it go up a little and miss out of a few cent in profit then it go down and lose out on more dollars.

Ohh and i'm taking bout the same spend- am shopaholic too & proud ;)

I got my flights from BHX, and mine cost £353 - It was the cheapest I'd found for a long time, and the flight times are reasonable too.
I've just bought my dollars! I've applied for the fair fx card that someone recommended on here, and for £1000, I got $1680. I thought that was reasonable, and as I used my maestro card, I didnt pay a fee. My sister went to the post office to get hers (Yes I'd told her about the fair fx card!), and got $1630, or thereabouts.
Not long to go now :)
