Aaah.. Cosmo Hotel is a great place to stay... *grins*
Times Square is boring, trust me, it'll take you 12 mins to get up from the Cosmo and 12 minutes to take photos, so you can do that any evening when you have some spare time. maybe sneak it in on the way back down from *spit* Citi Field *spit*. I'll reiterate the don't bother with ES Building either, as it is cramped and takes ages to get up and down. You get herded around and up and down, and that's it, but with TOTR you can wander for as long as you want as it's much more spacious.
btw.. it is Grand Central Station, i subtly corrected it, but this time i'm pointing out the mistake..
Also, days without plans are sometimes the best days you can have..

I know people keep saying dont do ESB BUT have to say I did both ESB and top of the rock and am glad I did. It is not for everyone but as far as we were concerned it was one of the must do's on a first visit. So I say, if you fancy doing ESB don't be put off.0 -
Ok, hacked off here
lastminute.com

Click on the button
£501
What, why how?0 -
Ahh the joys of lastminute.com...it uses estimated prices based on the last offer for that period I think, whenv you click on the buy button it then goes away and 'gets' the price - try skyscanner its usually real time0

We did both ESB and TOTR, but we did one at night and one in the day. Have to say I thought that the waiting for elevators at ESB was a real pain, and I would not of gone in the day to stand in a huge line - we went about 9pm ish and didn't get out til 11pm due to standing around waiting in a line. We thought that it was ok but did prefer TOTR......the reason....I honestly cannot say but we both came to the same conclusion. Also did the sky thing at ESB and although I had my eyes closed throughout it due to the sad fact that I get sick with the motion etc it was totally and utterly pants. We only did it as we were there and we had our New York pass. Waste of time really as the thing is outdated as well, and the guy couldn't be bothered to let us see all the films that you are meant to watch.0

I haven't been to New York, that's why I am reading all the post here to see where to stay best in New York and also the great place to eat. I will save some useful information to be use when I visit New York city.0

http://www.themavehotel.com/
the MAve Hotel. 23rd Street, near the Flatiron Building... so a short walk from the hustle and bustle of times square, but for the opening, there are some GREAT offers and prices available.... $149 a night before tax... bargain really for a nice unique boutique hotel.0 -
Oh, the first time you do ES, you do think it's amazing, until you go TOTR.... then that just blows you away.
Agreed. I am a TOTR addict...OH has to struggle to pull me away from there.A smooth and well run operation. ESB...too much queuing for me...and view/experience nowhwere near as good.
