Would I be able to get these much cheaper if I went to one the discount booths on the day?
What's the going rate for last minute Broadway tickets?
I guess it's down to whether I want to risk it or not, usually like to have everything sorted unless I can make a big saving. Anyone have any recent experiences?
Thanks in advance.
tkts booth sells tickets at 20% - 50% normal rate - last week Lion King was NOT available
recent comments on this thread mention broadwaybox.com so that might be an option0 -

Do I need to be a guest to dine there?
Thanks
No you do not need to be a guest to eat there we booked via Open Table. http://www.opentable.com/single.aspx?rid=1542&restref=1542
It was our 25th anniversary and my 50th so we decided to go there as I had been 10 years earlier and had a great meal.
The service was superb, the Maitre'D looked after us very well and soon realised I like beer so was giving me some very good suggestions to try.
Food was outstanding....beware its not cheap $75 for 3 courses but in my opinion well worth it for a special occasion every so often.0 -
Hi all,
Off to NYC in November (doing the Marathon:eek:) Just after a bit off advice regarding Broadway tickets. I want to treat my Fiancee to Lion King tickets. They go on sale on Monday on Ticketmaster for around £131 for the pair. Would I be able to get these much cheaper if I went to one the discount booths on the day? We paid $124 to see Hairspray which was superb. Go to the tkts booth at South St Seaport far less queueing - opens at 10 but get there at least 30 mins earlier.0 -

How long approx do you think it will take to get through customs...we land at 12.45pm, maybe an hour and a half?
Im ordering a car from Dial7 you see!
We landed last month about half four and it took over 90 minutes - nightmare. the process was slow cos only 3 guys were on the desks, also, owing to the delay they prioritised the folk with connecting flights (once you showed your ticket as proof). it was a painful start to the hol but transfer in cab was quick and once you see the NY skyline you forget all that!0 -

As previously mentioned in this thread if you go on broadwaybox.com you can get discount codes on here then use on ticketmaster.
You just pick the tickets up form the venue.

When we got tickets from broadway box for spamalot we printed the tickets at home, so no need to pick em up, and we bought them direct with brodwaybox so no need to go through ticketmaster.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

well, yes it does.... a Liquor store, can sell spirits and wine, and needs a licence to be able to do so, (much like our off licences in the UK), however, beer doesn't come under the licence, so virtually anyone can sell beer in NYC...
and liquor stores are NOT allowed to open on a Sunday

Since joining this site in July 07, i've been to NYC 3 times, and already planning my next trip.
In September 2009, it will be my 12th trip to NYC, in 8 years, this averages 1.5 trips per year..

Helllllooooo its much cooler today - just chugging down some coffee and off out to the botanical gardens
Went to LES yesterday and spent $20 in economy candy, but we got totally done in a liquor store with a bottle wine that was gross - and Marky why do you like it down there?? Its rough!
And the new subway station at South Ferry is super pretty!
Have fun all!0
