can i politely tell you to leave the board alone.. it will survive a week while you're on HOLIDAY IN NEW YORK..

I don't care how hot it is.. get an airconditioned cab to an air conditioned bar, and do some afternoon drinking
  • Just wondered if anybody has had an experience at dining @ The View Restaurant in new york marriot - Im going in september and want to know if it is worth checking out ?? Can anyone recommend the food and is it expensive?

Do I need to be a guest to dine there?

    Thanks
  • Well, incase anyones bothered...I booked somewhere completely different: Embassy suites downtown soho. Very very pleased as it has ALL the facilities we need, plus is well away from Times Square, we don't mind walking lots, so although it may not be too close to a subway, its only a ten minute walk.. So yes, brill.

Dare I ask, anyone got any clues on how I'll get there from Newark...cheap options welcome.

    =)

yeah.. you're about a 10 mins walk to either chambers street on the 1,2,3 or wtc which is the E train...

newark - airtrain, then nj transit to newark penn station, then get the path to world trade center... then you have to walk to your hotel...

other option, car service, which is reasonable, and cheaper than a taxi...

    Hi All!

In NY now and boy is it hot :D, got up early this morning and headed out for recce on the west side and walked though the park to get to the apple store and toy shop and then headed back to th hotel now for a shower before nipping out in an hour or so to TOTR, times Sq, Grand Central and some dinner and bit later...

Forecast is for rain tomorrow so hopefully it will be cooler and we can do some more stuff in the mid day..

The EU are apparently advising against travel now but everything's very normal here - the schools are open and no one is wearing masks - its all good :D

    Happy planning all!

dont forget photos TOTR- Xsquare- Grand Central -Shower-etc
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

    Hi everyone.

Again, thank to all of you who helped with us booking to go to NY. We have now opted for the New Yorker. We paid £706 each for flight and 5 nights stay. Hope this was a reasonable deal. Anyway, its all booked up now so a bit late for regrets!

Again, I just wanted to say thank to those who helped and especially Markymoo

    Hi
Just to say that I stayed at Embassy Suites earlier this month and it was great option for the facilities - me review is on tripadvisor under maryios. we paid the prepad cheapest rate but still got a hudson view (room 825) which was great, especially at night! Think you will like it - the evening drinks reception is a right bonus (if you drink) - free gin and tonics/wine/cocktails!! and the brekkie will fill you up till later in the day - look out for the takeaway boxes and stuff them with bagels and muffins and grab some fruit and a takeway coffee/tea on your way out - sorted for the day! Enjoy.

I cant comment on the food as ae didnt eat there but went for a few drinks. Not cheap I might add. Plus we didnt find the sercice to be very good.
If you go onto the website you can look at the food menu & also states the prices too.

Although we didnt eat there the view was fab however i wouldnt go back to eat.
We went to Tavern on the green and that was fantasic, great food. I can recommend that for dining.
