hey everyone!
im off to NYC in june over the summer, it will be our first trip to the city.
we are planning to treat ourselves to a really good restaurant, nothing with fancy food but REAL food, if you know what i mean. real portions lol.
we are students so we kind of have a budget to stick to, so just wondering if anyone could recommend some quality places either in manhattan or the brooklyn area.
thanks!0 -
One more Q...
How long approx do you think it will take to get through customs...we land at 12.45pm, maybe an hour and a half?
Im ordering a car from Dial7 you see!0 -
customs takes about 30 seconds..
Ok.. get of plane, queue up to go through immigration
go collect bags..
go through customs..
to do all 3, has taken me anything between about an hour and at the most, and 22 minutes at the least!
also, it doesn't really matter if you're early or delayed, the car services have cars waiting around all the time...0 -

Yes, we can.. read through this thread, and the hotels thread, and there is plenty of information on hotels that are reasonably priced, and also budget bargains to be had...
what is your budget? maybe we can help better if we know what your budget it..
someone who is sticking to a budget could have £2000 to spend on a holiday, whereas someone else wants to try do new york for £500

Oooh.. do you know why you can buy beer at a store, but not wine?0 -
oh thank you, well we were looking to spend up to £100 at a nice restaurant, nothing pretenious though.
thankfully we wont have to spend money for a hotel as we are staying with a friend who lives in the city which will increase our budget.0 -

Hi all,
Off to NYC in November (doing the Marathon:eek:) Just after a bit off advice regarding Broadway tickets. I want to treat my Fiancee to Lion King tickets. They go on sale on Monday on Ticketmaster for around £131 for the pair. Would I be able to get these much cheaper if I went to one the discount booths on the day? What's the going rate for last minute Broadway tickets? I guess it's down to whether I want to risk it or not, usually like to have everything sorted unless I can make a big saving. Anyone have any recent experiences?
Thanks in advance.0
