We went to Mudsville, I really liked it, interesting selection of ales! Had the wings and ribs platter, feeling about 100 stone heavier now, might have to let out my costume a bit for tonight otherwise ill be the rollypolly side show act.
Its still snowing, got quite heavy today and made walking around central park interesting!
As for the virgin air hostesses, check out a comedian called Pam Ann, she has an interesting sketch on Virgin staff!
over 99 different beers!
Mudville 9 is new york's answer to North Bar in leeds, when it comes to the beer selection!

i love reade street pub... and will be visiting again.. it's the kind of pub you can sit at the bar and while the hours away, but also have a fun conversation with anyone from any walk of life...
as for the whole "how small the plane is" question with regards to Delta from Manchester.. well it's the same size as every Boeing 757-200, and specifically they are the EX TWA versions that have recently been kitted out with VOD and also standard US 110volt power in the first 10 rows of Cattle Class..
158 seats for us minions, and 16 seats for the rich people!
all the details are here - http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Delta_Airlines/Delta_Airlines_Boeing_757-200_TWA_B.php
also, pretend to book a flight on delta.com's website, and you can see the seating chart for the plane on that day, so you should be able to spot what seats are empty etc...

Yep, the Reade Street pub is great!. We found it on our visit the weekend before last. Nice people, good prices, some nice beers...American Ale, mmm...and good food too (the cajun chicken burger was a favourite).
Definitely recommend this place.0 -

Well it was small but not stupidly so. We had tv's on the back of our seats too, they go around quite often with food and drink so you wont go hungry.
Thanks for much for the reply - feel better now!0 -

Hi,
We are visiting New York for 4 days in March. I am compiling an itinerary and have identified the following places to visit. I would appreciate any feedback on the amount of time we should allow for :- Empire State Building
- Statue of Liberty
- Grand Central Terminal
- Staten Island Ferry
- Rockefeller Center & Top of the Rock
- Ground Zero
- Ellis Island Immigration Museum
- Central Park
- Brooklyn Bridge
- Macys
- Times Square
- Madison Square Garden
- United Nations
- Chrysler Building
Thank you in advance.0 -
Empire State - 2 hours minimum
Grand Central Terminal - 20 minutes
Staten Island Ferry - 35mins each way - 1 hr 10 total
Rockerfeller & Top of the Rock - up and down in an hour, another hour for wandering around
Ground Zero - 10 minutes
Central Park - could easily spend a day there
Brooklyn Bridge - depends on how fast you walk!
Macys - 1 hour - depends on how much shopping...
Times Square - 30 seconds (just my opinion, i think it is awful!)
Madison Square Garden - erm, it is a concrete monstrosity, unless you're going to a game/show there ain't any need!
Chrysler, - you can't really visit it, but the surrounding area, you may get some good photos - 45 minutes to wander around and take photos..0 -
Empire State Building: Would'nt bother go to top of the rock better view and smaller queues
Statue of Liberty be easier to pass it by on the staten island ferry, you cant go up the statue anymore anyway
Grand Central Terminal 30mins or grab a coffee and people watch for an hour, its only a train station by the way
Staten Island Ferry, go over and get back on the same ferry (30mins)
Rockefeller Center & Top of the Rock, try and time your arrival for the top of the rock for about 30mins before dusk that way you get to see the sun set and watch manhattan light up and get a piccy of esb, of course you cant get this view from on top of the esb
Ground Zero, 2 mins
Ellis Island Immigration Museum, never been
Central Park, 30 mins to a day, depending on weather and whats going on
Brooklyn Bridge, walk it or look at it?
Macys, if you love shopping then days if not an hour or two it truly is amazing store, and dont forgert your 11% out of towners discount card which you get from customer service in level 1.5
Times Square, its bright its flashy its very very busy, go at night and take some pics then get out again
Madison Square Garden, not a great deal there unless you are going to an event
United Nations, on the list for the aug trip so not sure yet
Chrysler Building you can visit the lobby during office hours no more, however its right across the street from one of the entrances of grand central so stand near the bottom look up and take a pic
just my opinion of courseLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
