    Evening all,

Gorgeous makes, love the blanket and cushion. The colours are lovely and spring like.
I've finished my second ever crochet project. A pair of baby bootees for our new grand baby due in October. I thought these would do for either a boy or a girl.

Help needed please , i'm struggling to find any videos or instructions on how to join granny squares, where the join is flat. I don't want a raised seam as it is for a baby blanket, also has to be pretty easy to follow as i'm a novice.

If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be really grateful.

If you hold 2 squares with right sides together, you can use a blunt ended needle to sew them together with the same wool. You can see that the stitches match up, so you just start in the corner and sew, back to front of each set of stitches until you get to the end. If you only pick up the 'middle' stitches, you will get a better finish on the right side. Make strips of joined squares, then join the strips together. You can finish off by crocheting an edging all around when you are happy with your joins.

Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining. Maybe someone else can find a video tutorial to show you.

I found this - maybe it will help you.

I've finished the baby blanket for my niece/nephew. It's brighter than the average blanket. I just need to block it now.

Just popped back on here! Amazing makes everyone!

I am currently 1/4 way through a 3rd granny square shawl, made a purple one for my daughter who is always cold, a pink ribboned one for my niece and cousin is having a baby in July so making a blue one for the baby!

Its brilliant I sit with a coffee and the tv, and because my hands are busy I cant eat rubbish!

A question for those in the know.....When I make the squares they tend to go a little misshapen, why is that? Am I using the wrong wool or is it tension? THank You!

I am a novice too and was driving myself mad with misshapen squares, looked at a video on something called Red squirrel and realised that I was missing the odd extra stitches. A good vid for me is much better than a book. Hope you get it sorted x
