Has anyone on here had any experience of extreme crochet? I stumbled across it on you tube the other day and it looks fab. i reckon you could get a blanket done in no time. Not sure how money saving it would be though tbh as you have so many strands working together at the same time. Just not sure how practical it may be!

I've just finished 2 granny blankets for 2 work colleagues who are pregnant, some squares that I made a while ago are going to join the Bloggy Blanket

I have made myself some wrist warmers and I have started to crochet my first ever shawl using lace weight yarn  it was all going well until I realised that my stitch markers are too heavy so I am waiting on tiny ones arriving so I can continue.

Also spinning up some gorgeous yarn so that I can make a big snuggly scarf :D. Still blogging too.

I have tried both extreme knitting and crochet and love it :j You can make a rug in an evening! I used and old cone of 4 ply that was hanging around and wound off lots of small balls gathered them together with some odd balls in other colours and Bobs your auntie. It doesnt actually take that much yarn, I was suprised myself. When you see odd balls of wool in CS's pick them up, go for shades of one colour and you will soon have enough, 4 ply, dk or Aran. I used 25mm knitting needles I got free from somewhere and the biggest old crochet hook in my box - no need to spend a fortune on fancy ones. :D

    Hello :)

I only recently found this lovely thread and having looked back through previous posts, there are obviously some very clever crocheters around. It's years since I did any crochet and it seems the only patterns to be found now are for squares, doilies, scarves and so on.

I used to have patterns for adult cardigans and jackets but it appears to be impossible to find these now - the ones you find on eBay are so dated.....remember the dresses we used to wear in the 60's :D

Does anyone know where I may be able to get patterns for these sort of things that are more modern? I'm not so good that I can adapt patterns but I have made big chunky jackets in the dim and distant past that were really lovely.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
