according to them - small scissors with blades shorter than 6cm are permitted.
as are round ended or blunt nose scissors (borrow from my kids maybe)
Knitting needles and nail clippers are also permitted - although I have seen small scissors and knitting needles confiscated, hence my original question.
Maybe I will print out this page and take it with me -Although I'm sure it just depends which Security Guard you get.

My 2DS's fell about laughing when they saw what I was making .... they do not approve
!
Well you just make yourself a big cosy blanket in granny squares and when you're snuggling under it keeping warm see who'll be laughing then
Aw don't let it put you off though

Well the handwarmers will keep me warmNearly done
and yes..... will try to post picture when completed.
I really don't need a blanket, but might be tempted, as they're so prettyas, I'd always wanted to be able to do a patchwork quilt, and made us each one, a couple of years ago
What I will look for, is patterns for quick and easy bags, hats/scarves, thought they might be good for operation "shoebox", and can source charity shop/car boots for the wool for those. The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
Hi all
I have spent a couple of weeks coming backwards and forwards to this thread trying to read everything. i have made a VERY basic scarf, just straight up and down in pink, and am not attempting a blanket from belladia using double crochet.
what i wanted to ask all you experts!! is how do you unravel your wool. i have bought brand new wool looking a bit like this http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://images.esellerpro.com/2278/I/869/4/medscaleAran%2520with%2520Wool%2520dark%2520pink.jpeg&imgrefurl=http://www.milloutlets.co.uk/products/knitting-supplies-wool/acrylicwool-aran400g-dk-pink-kit-2-ar71-800g-aran-acrylic-wool-mix-knitting-knit-yarn-dark-pink.html&usg=__WRu5IdXo3Qca2gNTTGrTHs7erbs=&h=1944&w=2592&sz=792&hl=en&start=38&zoom=1&tbnid=FxZ3ruwBS_LGSM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=160&ei=YxtMTZbhE4674gbD3_CwDg&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwool%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1568%26bih%3D719%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C647&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=258&vpy=204&dur=1393&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=144&ty=106&oei=XRtMTeKRFYuIhQfg1uy4Dg&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=36&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:38&biw=1568&bih=719 the way it is ravelled i mean. well i put the ball on the floor but find that i have to keep unravelling it and flicking it out, is there a way i can stop this? i find that i get in the flow and then have to stop as the tension is tightened due to there being no loose, unravelled wool left
thank you!

i know what you mean! it drives me insane, more so as i do a lot of my crochet on a train, and the wool generally stays in my bag... frustrating is an understatement..
what ive learned to do, is pull from the middle of the wool, at either end u have a'hole' i try and find the end their and if not i generally pull what i think is the beginning 'clump' and work from their...

You can take a box of dental floss to get around this, the small metal blade works fine to cut DK not sure if it would work with Aran or Chunky yarn. I used one on a flight to Cuba.Earning Swagbucks since May 2012

Ooh I say, looks very warm. I love the colour too. Well done :T
You could always crochet some of the heart bunting midwinter to hang in the garden once summer arrives. Or an outdoor blanket for when Summer nights are here...can you see the theme
Ah it gives us something nice to look forward to.
