Hi! Ok! I don't know where to start on the next row after the 150 chain?

Earlier questions - Ok, no problem boss. Now chain = simple. The double crochet - I can do. I opened my xmas present crochet kit last night and learnt that stitch (but they called it a single stitch too).

Now, When you say "turn around", do i then go into the stitch beside the one I have just done and start there? Do I go into the front or the back? (Front is the V back is the knots?) Am i over complicating this?

feel thick, just don't want to do it wrong :D

Thanks for asking, how sweet! x

Thanks Pol! I'm afraid I stole my colour ideas from Lucy of Attic24 from whom I also got the plant pot jacket idea. I'm thrilled to bits at the moment because she has just left me a lovely comment on the Attic24 flickr group. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? :D

When I make the squares I lay out all colours on the floor so that I can try out different blends. Initially I was going to mix the colours up within the squares but then I saw they fell into two groups -reds and pinks and blues and greens so I decided to make them in those two colour groups.

The vibrancy of the squares is partly due to my shiny new camera and its wonderful 'vibrant' colour setting.

I've been making some of her little birds and stuffing them with lavender from the garden as Christmas pressies, have also made a jam jar cover and am planning on doing some more of those, they were pretty quick to make.

zippy, now you need to turn to do the double crochet bit. Miss one chain (that allows for turning and is the approximate height of a double crochet) then put you hook into the next chain so that there is just one loop below your hook, yarn over hook and pull through, yarn over hook and pull through both loops on hook. That should be your double. The first row into your foundation chain can feel a bit tricky but you will get there.
Hope this helps - good luck!

Exactly right . So the first chain you go into will be the second to last one you made (don't count the loop on the hook as one) because you need to miss the first one.

The third row is trebles and you do 2 in each of the doubles that you are doing now so you are effectively doubling the number of stitches - and you will start to see it twirl/ruffle/spiral like magic :D.

You should see an instruction to chain 3 at the start of this row - this is to give the height of the treble.
    here goes......
Yarn over hook (2 loops) and through stitch. Yarn overhook and pull through (3 loops). Yarn over hook and pull though first 2 loops (2 loops) yarn over hook and pull through remaining 2 loops to leave you with just one loop on the hook again. That is one treble. You will need to do another one through the same DC as the first.
If anyone is lurking and wincing at my explanations, feel free to jump in as I'm not sure if I'm making any sense :p
