One question when you do your foundation chain and your going along your first row do u pick up both loops or jst one ?

If that makes sense ? lol

If I get you right then it's both. Should be a loop below hook and two above.

I made these a while ago with this pattern

Here is a really good site for those who prefer a diagram to work from. It's really clear, shows all the basic stitches and uses UK terminology

    brilliant!:D

I shall have a proper play when I get time..... too rushed at the moment with xmas and kids and possible new job!!

The site looks like it might (i did say might) just get me crocheting.....

  • ZombieCazz - those mittens are adorable!
I've added the pattern to my to-do pile. Maybe I'll get them done by the time it snows in February.

I too have bookmarked the mittens. I have soooo much stuff bookmarked now that I will be crocheting till kingdom come. I wonder how I ever stopped doing it for all those years.

I take back what I said about granny squares being boring, Thriftlady, yours are brilliant, love the plant pot things too.

Am trying not to look at too much stuff as I WANT TO DO IT NOW!!!!!

Am now in the middle of a very boring hat, only reason I am doing it is can/t find hat from last year, think I put all winter hats and gloves in a bag and then said bag must have got put in with rubbish  weather says getting cold next week so need 'an at'
Oh can find the silver glittery hat I made for 70s party, but not sure that will go down too well walking through town :rotfl:

Bargain bird - Row 3 - 2 treble into next stitch, 1 treble into next stitch and so on till end of row

Not done any crochet/knitting for ages but got inspired by the threads and postings this week.

This is my first attempt at a ruffle scarf - have made a note to make it longer next time, but this is fine for my 11yr old dgd1: 018.jpg

That's great Olliebeak. Well done. I found my first scarf was much too short and then did one that took forever to get to the end of! Hope you enjoyed doing it.
  • Hi all, and good to know Olliebeak has rekindled interest in knit/crochet. The scarf looks great. Have you seen the waffle wristwarmers on the Knit your Square thread. They are quick and easy and make ideal partners for the scarf. Love to all.
P.S. Hope Zippy is getting on ok as not heard from her for a while.
