What we have noticed is how having a few days off work together can make our spending rocket - and generally pointless too!![/QUOTE]
True to form we had an afternoon off and conspired to spend all but £100!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -
Hi Folks , Can i join in on the challenge please. I have been making small overpayments on our mortgage for a few months but really want to get stuck in, now that i am back to work following maternity leave. Our mortgage at the start of the challenge will be £16100 and i would like to reduce this by 26k over the course of the challenge to leave us with £135000. A big thanks to Financial Bliss and Maz123 for starting this challenge and all their hard work:T:T

I'm going to have to increase my original starting point but will PM FB at the end of the month.
Floxxie / all,
Don't forget that you can also use the challenge update form, which is here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGtzMTdvS1VnNXUwakpPc3NjZzRHMVE6MA
This location should not change, so you can bookmark it in your browser if you intend on using it throughout the challenge.
Has the benefit of not updating my mail box with PMs.

Oh my goodness, I only have one more mortgage payment before our challenge begins *gulp*........how exciting though.
I shall update you FB with my actual balance at 12/12/09 as it will differ somewhat from my original figure. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Hi Louise,
I was just looking at your mortgage diary the other night and noticed it hasn't been updated since the summer - thought you'd forgotten about us here on mortgage free section...
Great to hear you're still on board and looking forward to the challenge.

Hi everyone,
Just in case anyone else would like a short-term challenge as well as the MFiT, please join us on the 2010 MFW thread.
Good luck everyone! Another one here that can't wait to get started0 -
Financial Bliss
When I initially signed up for this challenge, I was hoping to reduce my mortgage this year to £88,000 (a reduction of £9,500), so I based my 3 year target on that level of annual reduction.
After exploring/utilising many moneysaving techniques, I reached that target at the end of August and then revised it down to £84,000.
I think my mortgage will be around £82,500 on the 12/12/09, so I would like to revise my objective, which is currently:-
Reduce mortgage from £84,000 to £44,000.
I would like to change it to:-
Reduce mortgage from £82,500 to £32,500.0 -
Wow - what a lot of challengers!
And so to my own target......
My mortgage currently stands at around £97,500 which is, actually, interest free as my kind mother leant me the money. Therefore, a big part of my challenge is wanting to pay her back as quickly as possible - as well as really not wanting the payment coming out of my bank account each month, forever.
My car PCP plan will also run out about 3 months before the end of the challenge.
The plan, therefore, is that in 3 years time, without these drains on my finances, I'll be able to switch to working 4 days a week without any drop in my left over money, but hopefully providing me with 3 day weekends galore in which to explore the country!
So - if you'll have me - that's what I want to achieve.
Good Luck Everyone, there's a good few millions going to be paid off if we all get to our targets!!

As if I could forget about you FB:A:D
I have a diary on the DFW as part of the mortgage debt was consolidated credit card debt which I am shifting first.
I shall be back on my MFW thread once that pesky debt is gone;)But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0
