And so to my own target......

My mortgage currently stands at around £97,500 which is, actually, interest free as my kind mother leant me the money.

    Hi Batfink,

You're the second square peg in a round hole - no offence intended, as you have no mortgage as such.

Jenna @ 128 also does not (yet) have a mortgage. She is saving for a deposit on a house and commented that this challenge looked fun and we were all friendly...

I was hoping she would come back with a savings target before I broke the news to the masses, but since she is no longer alone, I may as well break the news now...

But back to you Batfink - I've allocated you as #155. I'll PM you shortly with the usual joining instructions :D

    Thanks,
    Financial Bliss / Maz123.

Hmm. Hope you have spotted the earlier message then...

Sorry about that - I have switched them on now, if I could be a pain and ask you to try again? :D

    Thanks for the number.

  • Hi There

I have to say this challenge fits the bill perfectly for me. My mortgage will be about 60,000 on 12/12/09. I have spent the weekend looking at options to see how close to the objective of three years and clear I could get, and with some adjustments I think it will be possible given a fair wind! So...

Clear mortgage of 60,000 in 3 years it is!

Thanks to Martin, the team and Money Savers for getting me DEBT FREE in Nov 2009!!

    Thanks for the focus..

    Good luck Everyone!

Well done on becoming debt free, what a great feeling for you & what superb timing :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Hiya All

Not posted for a few weeks so thought I'd log on just to say Hi!

I've been keeping my blog (fairly!) up to date but still want to find some more followers - I've only got 3 so far!! I'm feeling a little less self concious about updating it - all until tonight when my hubby helped me create a page on Facebook :T

I've sent an invite to some 60 friends (a mixture of personal and work colleagues) and now I'm more self concious than ever!! :o Why is it that we really don't like disclosing how much we owe on our mortgage - yet I've opened this info to shed loads of my friends!! (well, potentially, only if they join my page!!)

So come on guys, keep me motivated and follow my blog - it will make such a difference!! :D

btw - 33 days to go til the big day!!! I'm sooo excited!!!

Where do I find your blog - I'm a newbie with that kind of stuff. My niece was surprised to find I wasn't on Facebook as she thinks I'm such a techno person - ha ha! Needless to say I am now :rotfl:
:( Struggling too much wears a body out

    Hi Superfast_Gran,
Go back to the first page of this thread and you'll see the list of challengers. For everyone who has either a MSE mortgage diary or diary elsewhere, I've converted their name to a link to their diary.

And if I've missed anyone out, PM me and I'll add a link to your own diary.
