Hi all
I've just checked and it was the 9th January this year when I originally signed up to this, where does the time go to  But the 12th Dec is nearly here and I'm really looking forward to it.
I originally advised FB my start figure for my IO part would be £80k but i've just done the sums and it's actually going to be £85k. Now don't worry, my spreadsheets didn't let me down and give me the wrong numbers at the start of the year :rotfl:the higher than expected figure is more to do with the fact that I've changed my car and done some S&S wheeling and dealing (and held on to some!)
I've just worked this OP's out to the penny so that the start figurere will be exactly £85k:rolleyes:MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18
Original Mortgage o/s £187,643 / £71,904 (-115,739)

Int Only o/s £94,982, now £16,004 (-78,978)
Total daily interest £1 [a) £0.77 b)£0.23
Total OP's:2018 target £TBC YTD £1,9950 -

Just a thought about what my balance will be. Monthly payment is 25th of the month, with interest being added on the 1st. Which figure should I use: the balance just after payment or the actual figure on 12th December? Anyone?
Struggling too much wears a body out

My thinking behind an up to date starting balance was so that you could accurately see how much your mortgage has been reduced by. I know I am going to update my info from 12th December balance, but at the end of the day, it's up to you.
We still have quite a few "Objective needed..." entries, so I'm pleased you're on the case.
For those with no objective, anyone able to state this yet?

Hi Everyone
I would like to join in as well please. DH and I have been reading all your posts. At the moment we owe 70k with little in savings as paid off all debts then DH had cut backs at work, but things now returning to "normal" so the mortgage is next on the hit list. Want to reduce it by 20k.
Good luck to everyone and Thankyou FB.0 -
Hiya All
Not even sure I should be admitting to this but I was having a conversation with my husband last night about the fact Accrington Stanley managed to raise 308K to pay off a tax bill through public donations. I said wouldn't it be brilliant if 107,000 people gave us £1 each - we could have our mortgage paid off in no time!!
Anyway, today, he has created a facebook page for me called 'Aisha's searching for 107,000 friends with a spare £1.00 for her challenge'. How crazy is that?!! I don't even know if this is allowed or not but can you imagine if it worked!! I'm going to update details on my blog so lets see what happens.

Hi there
I was part of the original MFI3 challenge, but didn't get as far as I hoped
As FB wisely said in the introductory post, life sometimes doesn't pan out that way. One of my unexpected eventualities is featured in my avatar.
I'd like to rejoin, I've paid £55000 off since I updated last, so my current challenge is, to shift the remaining £79480 in 3 years.
Good luck everyone with your challenges
Weezl x
