    Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
    Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 17

    Well felt HScartwheel.gifyesterday.

    Today it just feels really weird (nice weird). I suddenly realised how much energy has gone into putting a roof over my head since I left home 28 years ago. Then when we started a family how much energy has gone into putting a roof over all our heads. I feel like I/we own my/our house now and that feels strange - I feel like I own my salary and that feels strange too. Also a world of possiblilities are opening up...honestly it feels amazing.....

    Wow. Must be fabulous, love the way you describe owning your salary. Mine is a staunch Marxist - thinks ownership is theft so spreads it between as many people as it can :rotfl:.

    How much were you paying off each month - what % payrise would you have needed to get that?
