JEALOUS! We finished our fixed rate of 5.29% at the end of last month and dropped onto an SVR of 4.99%. Surely it should be lower than that?
I would switch; there are plenty of better deals out there atthe moment.MFiT - T2 # 64start date: 1.7.09 MFW end date: 31.10.17

Firstly I must offer sincere apologies as I have definitely been AWOL from this thread. My DD has just turned 7 months and it's only now I feel like I'm coming out of the initial baby haze, plus she was in hospital for a while so that diverted my attention.
When I signed up for this challenge I admit, I was looking at it more from the full 3 year perspective as I knew I'd been on mat leave for the bulk of this year. So i do expect to be way behind for this year with a view to "catching up" in years 2 and 3. Hope this is ok.
My main question is this, where do you all get your figures from? We get one mortgage statement in January and that's it and our mortgage isn't available online. Do you take it from a spreadsheet, call your mortgage provider or something else I'm missing?
I'm off to read the rest of the thread while LO sleeps as I could do with the motivation boost.

We're with C&G and only get an annual mtge statement, with no online facility - but I used the statement figures to set up financialbliss's spreadsheet and have phoned C&G a couple of times also, to check s/sht is on track - I was out by £20 originally and £1 the next time. I plan on phoning them quarterly now, just for updates - the s/sht is close enough for a day-to-day scenarioI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Our mortgage (Nationwide) is visible online in the same way you can view your current account details. The balance changes daily as interest is added daily and drops when payments clear.
Interest for any one year is just shown as one interest amount - I keep an independent record of interest so that I can break it down month by month.
May be worth enquiring if your mortgage is available online?

Hi,
I seen the two free spots on your board and would like to take one if possible. My current mortgage balance is £110,147.12 and we would like to reduce it to £80,000. by the end of the MFit challenge.
Thanks,

Evening everyone and thanks for all the well wishes.
Briefly, have had my surgery and waiting to see the oncologist for next phase of treatment.
Now for the good news.I've had my payout from the critical illness insurance and have cleared all my debts on 06/07/10.
I have a flexible offset mortgage at 0.99%
I have put £15k in a savings account(2.6% int) as a start to paying off my mortgage and it already had £10 in...
The figure for the mortgage is higher than already forecast due to having had to take some out since christmas.
So these are the figures as they stand today
Mortgage......£46033.20
Savings........£15010.00
outstanding....£31023.20
I will obviously pay my normal repayment mortgage payment and add as much as I can to the savings..am still hoping to finish the challenge by 2012 but am not working at the moment.0 -
