Thanks everyone...
Am hoping for my critical illness to pay out which will cover my debts and only leave my mortgage to pay so can hopefully make some overpayments on the mortgage then.
I'm off work at the moment and being S/E only get £65 per week for my sick pay.
DH is working as much as he can on the cab but there's only so many hours he can work and obviously can't cover his own shifts and all of mine( not the amount of time I could so a big drop in income)...
Ours is an offset mortgage and as soon as the debts are paid....I'll be building the offset up but will need to use it sometimes to pay the big bills on the cab0 -

Thank you for the welcome and also best wishes to taxi. I agree that you should stay in the challenge - as a newbie, you don't mind taking a slot from someone who's not set themselves a goal, but it wouldn't feel right to take your slotDon't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Morning Folks,
Another month, another payment and overpayment. This is a good one though as it evens it up to a nice round figure and leaves us with just the four payments to go. Better still, of the remaining 124 days, 21 of those are in Vegas so I won't be concentrating too much on money saving for those!
Normal mortgage payment: £827.06
Interest added: £17.99
Overpayment: £2,940.93
Total Payment (July): £3,750
Mortgage Outstanding: £12,000
Cheers,

Hi! All, today is the first day on our BMR. Our fixed rate, 6.85%, finished yesterday and now we are on 2.5%. We have not yet moved to a new product and are hoping we can get a few months, or more, on the 2.5%. Still hoping to make overpayments and have the mortgage cleared by the end of the challenge.
Good luck everyone and keep going.

Evening all, and a big welcome to the newbies :j
Really sorry to hear about your news taxi.........big hugs to you and yours at this time, please keep in touch I understand how health is for more important than anything else in the world. :grouphug:
I'm still recovering from my naughty spell of over spending and am now getting the budget under control, but it was fun and my wardrobe is looking brill
On a bonus side daddy has given me some money and i've been able to pay £5000 lump sum into the mortgage, i was tempted and started dipping so moved it quickly and now can't get it back I think that was the safest option.
A big thankyou to financialbliss for being a hero with all of this :T
