Hi everyone,
I've just made an overpayment of £1600, and my balance is now £43892.
Thank you all for your encouragement - I wouldn't be doing this without MSE!0 -

loopy-juice,
The charts are a combination of many sheets. Eg your forum name is held in one sheet and referenced throughout all the others. Makes life simpler and should someone change their forum name, I can change it in one sheet and it cascades throughout all of the others.
Similarly, the updates sheet and the chart summary, both of which are summary sheets reference other charts, so having people in different locations in different charts and having the links to the updates and chart summary still working are very slim. Think Kaz's nightmare sounds more like the truth.
Having a think about it, I could put an updated (Y/N) column on each chart, which shows on the chart in question if someone has updated or not. I'll try and have a play with the charts this evening.

Just a suggestion - perhaps make the people who haven't updated a different colour like light grey, then everyone else would stand out more IYSWIM. That would probably be easiest to see. Speaking as someone here who is very visual.
I also like to check myself out compared to the others who have paid to see if i am on par or doing better/worse. Motivates me to try that bit harder anyway.0 -
OK FB. Thanks for having a look.12/12/12 Lets party!:beer:0

ElusiveLucy gets one of the free slots and mummyofonechild gets a second. I'll allocate / send further info this evening.
Two remaining to fill. I'll also add a note to the annoucements or post #1 this evening.
Thanks everyone else for expressing an opinion!

Ooo, I'm a filler!!! Thanks for letting me join!
Hello everyone
Not quite sure how well I am going to do in this challenge but I have made a start and intend to try my damnedest to meet my target. First hiccup occurred between asking to join yesterday and getting my number today - OH made redundant! Ho hum! Still hoping to make my original goal though.
What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
Apologies I have not updated at all until today, but I have been saving!
My balance was £190 more than expected when I started, but I have been saving the £500 I intended to overpay every month into an ISA, plus an extra approx £450 into another savings account as my mortgage rate is only 1.49% Therefore I have got £10,227.32 available to reduce my mortgage by today, which brings it down to £120,699.75 :T
But confession time, we are pondering using the overpayment money to do a kitchen extension, as our kitchen is very small and has hardly any worktop space, and I do a lot of cooking from scratch. So for now, saving hard but got to decide if it will all come off the mortgage!"Adoption Loss is the only trauma in the world where the victims are expected by the whole of society to be grateful" - The Reverend Keith C. I'm not saying the non updaters should be removed from the challenge. All I'm saying is that they are moved to the bottom of the chart. This challenge is about paying what you can when you can and if they do decide to make a payment and inform FB, then they can be brought back into the chart. Bottom of the cahrt would be the non updaters, moving up the chart then would be the people who have updated once but not twice and then the people who have updated twice.12/12/12 Lets party!:beer:0

Have updated, I know very late in the day, but still unable to view my account online with Nationwide. Hopefully will be able to catch up in the next quarter.
Keep going everyone.0 -
Hiya All
So sorry for the very late update and the fact I've not been around much but not doing too well on the overpayment front at the moment. Other half's still out of work so our biggest challenge is making the monthly payments, never mind overpayments!!
Glad so many people are doing so well - good luck to those of us who aren't but hey, we'll get there!!
Apologies again but better late than never, eh?!! :T
