Can I make a suggestion re: the colours in your Update chart? The green and the red used to indicate whether someone is falling short by a lot or above where they should be are very hard to distinguish to someone who is red/green colourblind like me. :) Should be enough just to make the green a bit more vivid.

I've finally updated my total for March.

I've also requested to have my mortgage payment go out on the 2nd of each month, so that next time I can update sooner.

Here is a quick update. I will update google Docs when I get home as I can not access this from work.

Mortgage Start £22,400 now £21,932.35 Savings increased by £1200 Net Balance £20,732.35. 7.44% Reduction.

Mortgage Changes to Offset account with First Direct on 29th March. Can not wait to be able to manage it on line. Sick of the yearly paper statements and having to phone up for my Balance and write to them to make any changes to payments etc.
  • Just updated figure for March. Like deefadog it doesn't seem to be going down much but, even though we had Christmas and last week a holiday to Skye, credit card debts are not increased. Savings to pay 0% by June rising nicely in an ISA and plans to pay off lifetime balance rate 5.99% seem to be working out as well. So all is not lost! Health improving, albeit slowly. Taking a pottery class on Tuesdays for a coupla months. So, up is happening peeps!
:( Struggling too much wears a body out
  • PS Managed a small OP of £50 last month too!

    Hi everyone!

I've updated today - not paid off as much as I would like, but I've paid more than I would have thanks to this challenge :T I won't start making real progress until year 2.

The new rate/lower term kicked in this month, so that will up my monthly payments by £165, so it's all heading in the right direction.

Well done everyone - it's very inspiring stuff! And huge thanks to FB and Maz :A

Thanks for your kind information. You have really found out a good idea to get relaxation from mortgage. But I do not want to follow such a track. All the best.

Just updated my google doc. Mortgage starting figure is now £104k due to overspending at Christmas and overpayments being used to clear debt :-( I will be in a position to start overpaying again in June so moving in the right direction. Just want to get to June now so debts will be behind me and mortgage will be coming down.
