Well Lynn11, you've repaid 2.95% of your outstanding mortgage in 3 months, that's pretty good. Think of how much interest you'll save over time!

Another quick pre-chart teaser from me...

Currently 104 people have updated - many thanks for that.

But, a massive 98 people have not yet updated. I appreciate that your mortgage payments all come out at different times, but hopefully the chart dates were publicised enough ? :o

Never anticipated a collective 100% update rate, but I was hoping around the 75% - 80% mark, but it's currently standing at just 51%.

Going to publish not 1 but 3 charts on Friday - more info in due course :D:D:D

Still time to get your updates in.

  • Hi Financial Bliss / Maz

Have just updated via Google Docs and have pm'd you.

Balance as at 10/03/2010 = £99489.10 (so pleased to be under the £100k mark)

If possible, please can you change my objective to:

Reduce my mortgage from £107,243 to £53,621 (i.e. 50% of starting balance). Have done so well in first quarter that I think my original objective may be reached sooner than anticipated.

Huge thanks for running this challenge - really looking forward to seeing the charts.

  • Just updated via google docs, after the automatic £250 overpayment was finally showing on the account. Looks like I should be in the green zone so I am quite excited!

    Best wishes everyone

    Hi everyone

I've just sent our update via the link plus a private message as well so hopefully someone will get it!

Been saving most of the wages from my 2nd job plus two months of council tax to bring the total saved to £1205 bringing the mortgage balance down to £47763. This money is actually sitting in a savings account and won't actually be used until the end of the year when I hopefully send off a big fat capital repayment. :j

This means we're ahead of schedule to repay £3000 over the year but we also have a ski holiday to save for too! :rotfl:

    Good luck everyone.
Hoping to retire earlier than 67!

    Hi. No.174 here.
I'm afraid that I'll always be one of those that keeps everyone waiting by updating at the last minute. Update gone via google docs but briefly mortgage balance this am £39,950,£1900 offset in linked savings (annual bills account so will fluctuate wildly) so am declaring £38,050. Ahead of plan at the moment I think but more importantly sub £40k and 1 year off my 6.5 year term.
    Good luck all
