I am very excited! We got behind last month and I had to do some financial reshuffling and this month we have caught up...next month will be a huge step for us as we shall drop below 100K, so all is good again.
We managed to do really good with our food shopping and i think not buying naughty stuff is good for the wallet and waistline haha
Hope everyone keeps up the good work, really excited about the spreadsheet update :jMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 170 -
Morning All,
Another £2,625 knocked off the total today. Just the ten months to go now! Literally counting the 301 remaining days down.
Cheers,

Delighted to have knocked an extra £500 off this month plus the usual mortgage repayment. Quite looking forward to posting the totals on the 12/3.
Frustrating that we're locked into only overpaying by £500 until the end of the year but thats the way it goes I guess. I need to focus on getting under the £100k mark by the end of the year.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I have just been calculating where I stand for this challenge. I have committed to pay off all my debt and mortgage in these three years. For the first stage I needed to pay off 8.33% by 12th March. I am VERY happy to report that.....
:j:j:jI HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED THIS :j:j:j
I needed to have my debt total below £153,656 and it is now £148,627
.
This is a tough challenge for us and we knew that we would have to get a really good headstart to make it happen. I need now to focus on getting my debt down to £139,691 by the second stage on 12th June.

Well done everyone.
I have managed just about £25 overpayment in January and just sent off a cheque for £107 today for this months council tax sized overpayment. I always knew this challange was going to be hard in the begining but over the full 3 years it is acheivable. I do feel a bit left behind though.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Don't feel behind LilacPIxie, I have only managed a £50 overpayment so far. Life always gets in the way when you don't want it to, so financial contrainsts and demands from elsewhere has taken loads from my overpayment potential, but we have three years of this.0

Well done Ginger thats brilliant.
Agree Yukkibear - Lilac Pixie and everyone is doing really well. Its little and often and consciously really scrutinising each spend that matters - so that you are controlling your spend not the other way round. £606 is pretty good going I'd say.. I am now in a position to be paying down the mortgage but I am 40 this year ;-) and until earlier this year OH and me had always had credit card or personal loan debt or just added to the mortgage..pretty rubbish position to be in given our ages..this website helped give me the kick up the pants required..for me anyway its controlling what I spend and not the other way round which is the liberating thingMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
