    Hi all

Just had a look at our savings and we already have £745 in the Pay off the Mortgage savings account. :jand it's not even the end of January! I'm waiting to find out if I'm being kept on at the supermarket where I've had a 3 month contract stacking shelves (as well as my normal day job). I've put all the extra wages into the mortgage account and really hope I can stay. There's always overtime available and I could easily exceed our annual target of £3000 if I can keep that extra job.
Hoping to retire earlier than 67!

Well done on the progress so far. :T

I've got my fingers crossed for you in the hope that you get kept on.

    Morning All,

We received our mortgage statement today from Nationwide and OP'd by £2594.30 in 2009 which is an average of £216.19 per month. I've worked out if we increase the OPs to £250 pm we should hit our target date to be mortgage free :j now just got to find the extra pennies!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, January nearly over:T

  • Is it too late to join in?

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to say yes - too late.

The challenge was open for people to register their interest between 9th January 2009 and 31st December 2009.

Even if you registered in December, you will be getting nigh on a full 3 years for the challenge - there had to be a cut off date somewhere, and this was always going to be an issue. Continually extending the opening period means you'll no longer get 3 years for the challenge.

There's always the 2010 MFW challenge. Hope you can understand the reasons why I've said no.

Good News - the temporary contract at the supermarket's been extended for another month. Within that month we'll be told if we're going to be kept after that. I shall do a few extra shifts this final month just in case!
