By having the bus taken away for testing he has just admitted ownership of it. Make sure the driveway is blocked when they come back so you dont find it in the driveway when you come home and then if he doesnt want it it will have to be parked on the road.

  • Why let it drag on this long?

You should of just moved it off your property and left it for the police and the new owner to sort out.

It's as simple as that. ;)

Becuase the police dont want to know as its a civil matter. And we didnt want him to accuse us of trespasing on his bus - which the police would take notice of. Yet his bus was trespasing on our land - police not interested in that bit. Madnes i know - glad it sems to have ben sorted!

Crazy thing is - my dad is friends with the guy that took it away for testing - my dad is a mechanic for a bus company so is at this garage almost monthly testing the vehicles he looks after! He was actually there today while the bus was being testing waiting for a mot test of his own!
Being mates with an inspector of course will not ensure a clear result but we kinow who he would be in favour of!
    Again - MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!

(completely off subject but my in laws bought me a new sharan today - from a dealer of course - now terified of doing car sales on ebay! :T )

I was going to mention the trespassing part but suddenly noticed your post and didn't want to repeat anything ;)

Well done for getting it sorted - hopefully it is gone now and you won't have any more troubles. Bear in mind I said "hopefully" :)

maybe he was getting it tested so that he could insure & tax it etc so that he wouldnt get in too much trouble when he totals all the bridges on his way home!

Spoke to my dad today. The bus was'nt taken for testing! The mechanic came - had a look at it and went without knocking on the door. Dad was at the testing station the next day and they said that they hadnt actually ben asked to take it away - just look at it. They couldnt fins a problem.
So a letter has gone to the new owner with notice of removing it or being charged.
Had'nt mentioned before - but the new owner has not left any feedback for me and nor have i for him. Should we leave it at that or shall i give him some. i thought a neutral - he's paid the money. But then it should be a negetive because of obvious reasons. I dont particularly wante dit to ruin my 100% (181) fedback.
