Would love to hear what the latest update is on this :rotfl:

Without repeating everyone elses views too much but:
Once the ownership documents have been signed then the vehicle belongs to them by law. In future it's worth writing out a receipt for both parties and state clearly "Bought as seen" on both and get it signed by both parties...
As for the buyer driving off then I bet he didn't have insurance when he drove off in it :) He had the vehicle tested some time after purchase (not that it matters, as already stated then the vehicle is sold with an MOT certificate, not "it will fly through an MOT") after leaving it in a non-secure area. He should be happy it still had all four wheels and not a selection of brick propping it up... DOH! :)
Please let us know how you get on with him because I think we're all dying to know :D

Wow, what a fascinating thread. It has taken me 45 minutes to read through all the pages and there's still no 'end'.

I agree with everyone here though, he hasn't a leg to stand on. My MOT isn't due 'til July but that doesn't mean to say it would pass now, so his MOT after the purchase was just a waste of money on his part really.

Good Luck OP, and let us know whats happening now ... I'll put the kettle on :)

Just as you think this thread has finished it pops back up there with another twist in the tail!!!!. If I was you, when all this is resolved (if ever) I would write a book and sell it on ebay for a quid because over 16000 people have read this thread and you could end it buy leaving a link to ebay (CHA CHING!!). You could even buy the camper back and sell it with a signed copy of the book.

16000 + Pos feedback aint bad even if this guy does neg you.

Any ideas on the name anyone???

How about "Are we there yet" the life of a camper van..
