...I gave the credit people £49.50, and the have only refunded £39.50. I should be thank-full but legally they can only take £5 from your fee, and not any more. I have phoned them back regarding this, and they hung up the phone when I asked for a Manager.
I am not going to phone the OFT / Office of fair trading, to make an official complaint.0 -
Its £5 admin fee & £5 for paying by card...they prob would've declined to tell you there was a £5 fee for paying by card. But if you look at the forms they sent the fee stated in there is only £44.50, so you've got all you're going to get I fear0

Your probably right, but this will bring down "the Credit People" as I have now launched an official complaint to the OFT / Office of Fair Trading regarding this as they confirm they can only legally take £5. As in this case and possibly many others, the Credit People are not following the law, and as a result a large fine may now be imposed or / and their licence being cancelled.
I am thankful for their refund, but I am following the legal route now to see where it can go due to the OFT stating they can only legally take £5 from your brokers fee. I will also write to the Credit People stating my intentions unless the conclude this matter in a satisfactory manner. They have overcharged £5. / So in total they have taken £10 from me and as stated about possibly many others.
£5 for credit card fee's are without my permission as they never informed me before debiting my card, breaking their financial obligations to the consumer(s).
To clarify: They debited £49.50 & have refunded £39.50
They've kept £05.00 (Brokers Fee's which is legal)
They've kept £05.00 (Credit card Fee? - illegal and the OFT agree)0 -
...Contacted the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) and they have confirmed under the Consumer Credit Act, Section 155 administration costs can be a maximum of £5. As The Credit People never stated that an additional fee of £5 would be taken if paying by credit card, I can take them to a small claims court. £30 to start these proceedings then a further £25 to take it to court. The OFT said that the court would see it my favour and not in the favour of the Credit People.
They advice to put it all in writing first, which they classed the letter to be titled as "Action letter before claim" and state my intentions of asking for the £5 back or this particular subject will go to court.

Thank you for your post, myself and a collegue have both been conned by these people today, its only after paying my admin fee that I saw your message.
Others please be warned !! we didn`t want to believe it so my husband rang The Credit People and asked for a loan.. He gave a totally bogus name, address and date of birth.. The lady went away and then came back and said that he had passed the credit check and she was happy to advise he qualified for a loan.. My husband asked her name and stated he was from Trading Standards and that the call had been recorded, he asked to speak to her manager and she hung up on him...
PLEASE DON`T FALL FOR IT LIKE I DID.0 -

If while searching the internet for a loan you should happen to come accross CREDIT PROBLEMS, NO PROBLEMS, direct away from the page as soon as possible because this so called company is a scam and will quite happily take you for a ride, as i have just found out. After paying out nearly £50 pounds on administartion costs and completing various application forms i was told that the loan would be in the bank in a week. After 7 weeks, i recieved a letter stating that a company called CASH FINANCE DIRECT would be dealing with my application, and all i needed to do was call them at a premium rate of £1.50 per min, for 20 mins. I would like to add at this point i did not make the mistake of contacted them, thank god. All i have had from the start of this transaction is lies, and i hope after my report to the OFT the company will be shut down. Another company trying to scam people who need help out of money.
Just wanted to warn people off this company, obviously you can make your mind up, but some real truths about organisations always helps in the decision making progress.
Happy New Year to all:beer:0
